Thank you Kater for pointing out about the Tachymeter I have checked and it is obvious that the tachymeter although lined up at the 12 (at 60) and the 6 (at 120) is clearly setup wrong i.e. the 100 should be further around the dial between the 7 and 8 and like you pointed out the 3 should be lined up with 240 not 225! This doesn't appear to be an alignment issue but a issue with the printing on the bezel. Thanks for watching! Edit: I've pinned your comment so people can be made aware of the Bezel missalignment!

The ST19 movement is unreliable trash though so not really a bargain. That's why it's always in such cheap watches.

Very nice review, I really like it!!!! It touches all the significant points to review in a watch. Regarding the price of the Speedy in the 1960s, it was actually a lot less. I have a Speedy collection consisting of 19 pieces that includes my first Speedmaster that I bought in 1968 with my first year of savings and I remember I paid 135.00 USD new from a jeweler store in Puerto Rico. Later I also bought a Rolex Cosmograph chrono from the same store that was an actual crap, and it was 170.00 usd. I still have that first Speedy watch, and is the Crown Jewel of my collection because it has the Omega 321 caliber inside. Yes, it is true that at this price you would not get the kind of quality that exist in the Real Speedy, but it is remarkable how good the execution in this watch is. I compare that with the MoonSwatch I got and that is twice the price, and is not as good at this one Phyllida or the Pagani. At least I can wear a Chrono on a daily basis without risking my valuable watches. The Seagul ST 1901 movement was originally a Swiss movement, a Venus 175 if I am not mistaken, and is not a bad movement, it was used by early Breitling Chronos in the late 1950's and 1960's. The problem is that Seagull do not have a good QA/QC department for this movement, and it is produced in high quantities, and the tolerances are not that high, but certainly is not a trash as someone has said here. With good care, that movement can last a lot and work very well, and I know that because I have several of them in full working conditions. that I service myself. Again, a very nice and complete review!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words! yeah it's not a perfectly finished watch by any means, but I always like to remind myself that this is far above the standard of most mainstream brands comparing the price and what you get! Thanks for the feedback, and yeah might deter some companies from sending me free watches, but at the same time i want to be honest with you guys and lay out the downsides as I feel those are the important things to consider when making a purchase!

It's a great looking piece, I opted for the all black as I do love swapping out straps to spice things up and thought the black would be a little more versatile! If he has smaller wrists it does wear a little large as it is quite flat unfortunately, but hey if you pick one up for yourself, you can always gift it to him when he gets a bit older! only thing i would say that i forgot to mention in the video is these seem to be selling fairly fast (i've noticed they've gone out of stock on the black version) so if you want one soonish might want to pop it in the basket sooner rather than later (unless you're happy to wait for a second run on these watches)! Yep top hat sapphire! Yes that's correct the original did feature a hesalite (acrylic) crystal as it experiences a longer period of plastic deformation before catastrophic failure so deals with pressure changes better. But Omega as you said does offer it with a sapphire as it is far more practical in day to day life due to the improved scratch resistance. Haha better, perhaps if you where being really cheeky! As far as alternatives to this model I've heard people mentioning Alpha as a potential competitor although I don't have any experience with the brand so wouldn't really be able to comment! Its not a different movement they both use the same movement the ST1903, its just the sub dial numbering that's different.

@@Edward1312 no,at first i thought the same,but look carefully, they always point at the seme hour.

@@Michael.Kurenkov If that's the case they must have put the ST1901 movement in them and the dial at the 6 oclock position would be faux. Unless the 6 oclock sub dial has 24 hr numbering it isnt must use anyway even if they had used the ST1903 because with the normal 12hrs numbering it would only copy the main hour dials if it did work.

Thanks for watching, Yeah i'm a little confused on the mirrored 12 hour complication, not sure when that would ever be useful, in this watch but also in any watch, as you can't set it independently so not too sure! This is the ST1902 as far as I can tell, and I think Seagull do offer a different variation of the movement the ST1903 which has a 24 hr sub-dial at the 6 so perhaps Phylida could change that for a future version

I think unfortunately you may be right, perhaps it was a cunning publicity stunt to get the name Phylida out in front of everyone'e eyes!

@@IBoughtAWatch Aha! You've got me. You're more into the actual detail than I am, and let's face it, you have to be with your own KZfaq channel. I've gone only a superficial level because I wouldn't know what the heck to do with those functions anyway. The Paulareis won't have a chronograph and it's highly unlikely the Corgeut would either at that price point, and it's quartz. Thank you for that. You may just have cost me more money. I'm looking for one as authentic as possible without ever having the cash to splash on an Omega. I'm still learning.

@@IBoughtAWatch No they're not at all completely truthful in what they say. I bought the Corgeut for the authentic look and it arrived today. Whatever it does or doesn't do chronometer wise I won't either get it or miss it. It makes the Paulareis with it's ugly logo, look like a bus wheel on your wrist. 👍

@@markgrieves1307 A chronograph is not the same as a chronometer. A chronograph has a stop-start function to record time, while a chronometer is a movement that is highly adjusted and regulated to maintain a high level of accuracy and precision. A Chronometer can or can not be a chronograph.

On the original speedmaster they used a Hardlex crystal, however this homage I can confirm uses a top hat Sapphire

Lots of the comments are mentioning the Alpha Homage and it seems a very similar but popular option, due to the 24hr sub-dial! As far as scratches I've not noticed any on the bezel insert, just the usual wear on the buckle and bottom portion of the bracelet although I am quite careful with my watches, but will update you if i notice any considerable wear! The display back glass also seems pretty standard fair compared to other Ali express watches, but I'm sure its a mineral glass so will definitely be prone to scratches more easily luckily while on the wrist it should be pretty well protected! Thanks for watching and I might have to take a look at the Alpha for a comparison in a future video!

Possibly, I've seen they have a Aqua Terra Homage that I'd like to run in a head to head with the Corgeut I reviewed a couple weeks back! There Sea-master Professional line also has caught my eye so who knows?

The watch is currently running about +6 sec per day whilst on the wrist which is pretty good. This changes if wound and left on my watch stand not sure by how much but doesn't appear to gain time quite as fast

Not at all it is a great watch and an excellent way to get the ST19 movement, but it does have some flaws as no watch is perfect!

Yes, it is a good watch but still has a few flaws, most notably is the incorrect tackymeter bezel insert!
