I might want to become a physical therapist in the future, but for now I'm working on becoming a physical therapist assistant. I already have an interview for a physical therapy assistant program later this month!

Not sure where she works but median salary for a PT is around $85,000. Average starting pay is around $65-70,000

You can make $90,000 a year testing web software...most RNs make more than a physical therapist, even with a DPT.

In my country it's a five year degree and one year training we also get to open our own clinics and be official doctors it's mainly all about the study it's self

In Philippines only around $3000 :) there are less than 800 board passers. PTs here need supervising doctors. I'm not sure if DPT is common but i dont think so. A number of graduates go abroad to work because if this horrible working situation.

In Australia it's a 4 year degree and if you have a degree already in a relevant health related degree then you can do a 2 year Master.

I injured my low back causing a l5 s1 to hit my nerves; however, I got healed thanks to physical therapist and chiropractors. I was amazed how physical therapists help people get back to their normal lives. I want to pursue a career in that field but I don’t know how? Do I have to attend a 4 year college or are there specific schools??

I'm graduating in May and also chasing my PT dream. I have been told It's 7 years in total. 4 years in college either 2 in community and 2 university or 4 in university. After that you go to PT school for 3 years. I wish you luck on your PT dream 😊😊

Julian Riezgo average is 66k-67k I believe for NY. But it depends on location, where you wish to be placed etc

I feel like physical therapist are underpaid. Physical therapist should earn at least 150K minimum.

I do agree that DPTs are underpaid. I don’t believe that 150k should be the minimum but if you look at other health professions that require a doctorate like pharmacists, dentist, etc. they are head and shoulders above PTs in salary. So I think the average salary should at be 100k regardless of location especially for the amount of schooling you do and the student debt you’re likely to accumulate

They should but not even close. Pay is decreasing, time for patients decreasing and productivity requirements are rising.

I love being pt because its satisfying job,especially in stroke rehabilition..but i hate being pt too because other people call us nurse, do massage..hmmm

I work as personal trainer i made over 75k year. I was thinking to go to school for pt but 7 years school and to make same as am making now, not sure if it worth it

No. You have to further your studies and get PhD. Then you can use that title

I would love to be on that path on becoming a physical therapist. I’m a sophomore in high school, I have a lot of time before I can get a job like this. But I’m also transgender and pretty public and open about it. I don’t know any trans people with that kind of job. I hope they don’t discriminate over people like me and base me off my job experiences, college degrees, personality, more of the positive side of me.

That's crazy low! I know road patrol officers making a minimum of 90k a year. Sgts and up are making 100k at minimum. She should find another employer or move to another state.

I think her pay is low because she doesn't have experience, she's 26 with a PhD. I think immediately after her degree she did her masters then PhD she didn't work.

She doesn’t have a PhD. It’s a DPT. You only need a bachelors to get into DPT school.

7 years for a DPT is not worth that low starting salary, even later on you still will not make doctor MD money, regardless you have a doctorate. Put 1 more year in and go to medical school for all that time. Doctors make triple the amount a PT makes.

Not really, jobs in security or banks or hospitality are between 20k a year and 45k a year; physical therapists come 2nd on UK's highest paid jobs, not sure about USA though

it all depends on where you live/practice. In my area PT's are starting at 58-65k, depending on demand.

Jordan Andre she’s in her first year that’s why. They start you out at around 65-70k. The medium salary is 85k. Highest being around 100k. The more years of experience you have the more you’ll make.
