What I remember most about the altitude chamber is I got stupid. Couldn't do simple math. What's 1,000,000 + 1,000,000? Well, that's easy, I'm good at math. Start at the right, 0+0=0, carry the 1... Wait a minute... This is trickier than it looks. Maybe I'll come back to it later. Then I just kind of spaced out for a while.

I remember one chamber ride we had to list farm animals. Somehow we ended up with Zebras and giraffes and it was the funniest thing I’d ever heard.

I think that there should be a chemical oxygen generator backup for OBOGS. Same thing as the emergency air for airline passengers. Less maintenance and hassle than air bottles without completely putting all faith in OBOGS reliability. 20 minutes of chemical oxygen should be enough to get you out of trouble just in case.

TINS: Scuba diving, then flying? I used to get away from Lemoore and scuba dive on the weekends in Monterrey Bay a lot. Since I always followed the Navy dive tables while diving, I also made sure I was not sked for a hop on Monday < about 24 hr after a Sunday dive. Not sure that was necessary, but never had a problem. Just a prudent prevention measure?
