Professor Fink reviews the concept of Tonicity and then introduces the unit of milliosmoles to calculate the Total Solute Concentration (Tonicity) in a solution. Reference is made to Isotonic, Hypotonic & Hypertonic Solutions, and that the definition of an Isotonic Solution is one containing 300 milliosmnoles per L (300 mOsm).
