I’m a very new piano player and this video is EXACTLY what Ive been looking for. I’m taking piano lessons but piano teachers don’t really teach “Pentecostal church” music lol. And my whole reason for learning is so I can help out our church when we don’t have a piano player. I’m very grateful for this video!! Thank you!

Thank you so much for making this piano tutorial video! I, too, do not read sheet music, and I have just recently to begin picking up a few things by ear. Due to my relying on what I have learned thus far by myself, the tips you have provided will help me to advance and move past simply playing the chords with little to no transitions. You are truly anointed, and I pray you continue working for the Lord and playing for His glory! God bless you!

PLEASE do more of these piano videos AND do VOCAL lessons! I'd like to hear more traditional gospel sound and the fast Pentecostal music and the old Kentucky gospel music. Preacher chords too. It is much needed for Pentecostal churches.

I second the vocal lesson! Tips for congregational songs, soloists, back up singers, & choirs! That would be so much appreciated!! There are so many options for secular musicians but not a lot of vocal material for strictly Pentecostal singers.

This is excellent! I like the instructions at the first of this video. I am both a Pentecostal Pastor and a retired Keyboard Repairman. I can tell you that I repaired a lot of damaged Key assemblies by people playing the keys too hard. Modern keyboards have touch sensitivity keys. The harder you hit a key the louder it gets to a point and then it is at its maximum volume. It does not do any good to hit it any harder it just wears the keys out faster or it sometimes even breaks things. I have always said that a good drummer knows how to keep good timing and also not play too loud (or hard). The same holds true with the keyboard. Timing is important but also not playing too hard is also important. The volume can be controlled with the volume control no need to overdo it. I also like being mindful of the Spirit. The teaching on playing style is also wonderful. I have put this video in my saved file. It is wonderful! Thanks so much for posting it!

Just watched and listened to this video again and find even more very useful licks and runs as well as technics I can apply in my playing.. Also, A lot of tutorials show the left hand extending to the 10th, which sounds fantastic, but my hands don't stretch that far. Having trouble even to roll to the 10th so looks like that's out for me. It was a big deal for me to see you use octaves on both hands as I do. Your sound is fantastic and loose nothing in quality in playing that way. Thanks for taking the time to share your talent and knowledge God has blest you with. As for me, I'm very appreciative you have unreservedly shared your gift. Thank God for the means of KZfaq this has and is helping people like me whom have yearned to improve their playing. This style of Gospel playing isn't common where I live and hasn't been for years. Once in awhile I've had the privilege of people I've come across along the way that could give a 5 minute tutorial on a lick or run when asked but refused to share. I know I'm not alone so refreshing to be able to search for tutorials like this one that I can glean from. God Bless you in His service!!!

I am absolutely thoroughly enjoying your insightful tutorials, very interesting and helpful. The obvious question is when will Brother Gary be producing a guitar tutorial video? He is one of the coolest guitarists ever Also when you produce a cymbal and tambourine video, perhaps giving some historical information on how they have been used in the penetecostal tradition, and practical tips on using them?

I'm not sure I will get a comment from you Jeremiah, but I like the sound of your keyboard. Outside of enjoying your tutorial, singing and playing and feeling the anointing I have a question concerning a keyboard amp. Here's my concern, I use my headphones to practice. I have a Peavy PA System but I'm finding I'm not getting the sound from my Korg Triton through it that I get through my headphones which is a little disappointing. What is a great keyboard amplifier that will give me a duplicated sound I hear through my headphones? Roland???? Thanks for posting this tutorial. Easy to follow and appreciate you slowing down for the viewer to learn.

I have a question- does it matter which note is on top when you transition chords? I’ve always just played rhythm with my left hand and the melody with my right hand so this chording thing is new for me to learn.
