Looks beautiful. 1968 was the first year for side marker lights & the last year for the 3-spoke steering wheel. 1968 was also the first year the large rear window became standard because 1967 was the last year for the base small rear window. Those are the second generation C/K series pickups & they were produced from 1967 through 1972. The CST "Custom Sport Truck" was the top of the line trim level from 1967 through 1970. Then in 1971, the new Cheyenne was introduced which became the new top of the line trim level. Later on in the 1971 model year, the new Cheyenne Super was introduced & became the new top of the line trim level. The square bodies were the first to receive the Silverado trim level in 1975 which replaced the Cheyenne Super.

@mikebryant1524 & the sixth generation Suburbans which have the same body design as that 1968 there received a third side door on the passenger side in 1967. Then the seventh generation Suburbans which are the square body ones finally received the fourth side door on the driver side in 1973.

Wow, sweet rig! Great stance and patina. That's a whole lotta factory markings on the firewall. 😳 Don't think I've ever seen so many numbers before. Guess that's what happens when every option is ordered. 😏 With everything else being so original (and you preferring original), it'd be worth fixing up the OG A/C system vs. doing a Vintage Air unit.

i agree just hard to find someone that will tackle the original ac system .. and the cost is alot cheaper on the vintage air and gives u more room under hood

@@mikebryant1524 If it was easy... 😉 By the time you add up the final bill, I'd think paying a shop to install a Vintage Air unit (with the block off plates, mounting fabrication, new bracketry and plumbing, etc.) would cost as much - if not more - than it would to just replace/restore parts on the original system. If you had no original A/C, it'd be a different story. Definitely do the Vintage Air at that point. Why is more room under the hood a consideration if you're keeping it all original? It all looks and fits great right now. 👍

Only other thing I can think of right now would be a Tilt Column. But that truck is pretty much loaded out! It's beautiful! Thanks buddy for your question my friend!

@GMCTIM. I don't know if they offered tilt columns in the 1968 Chevy C10 trucks or not. But I had a Factory Tilt Column in my 1966 Chevy El Camino. They offered them in Chevelle's and in Pontiac's and other GM products and in earlier years as well. Thanks buddy!
