I always thought it would be rad if Frieza was actually killed by Piccolo on Namek after fusing with Nail. A twist in the story that Frieza was more concerned with the Saiyans and didn't spare a thought for the natives he butchered to get the Dragon Balls, only for that to be his undoing. Then his father emerges from the shadows to be the antagonist that ends up fulfilling the Super Saiyan legend.

Given Piccolo is Toriyamas favorite character, it baffles me he didn't do like a mini manga series all around him, or his father for that matter. Or even how he grew up in the years between Goku defeating Piccolo Daimao up to the Budokai. But hey he got the service he deserves. Toriyama was big on giving something to Piccolo in the upcoming movies/series' and voilá we got it.
