Also, y'all cut Goku some slack, he sacrifices his life twice for Gohan, then stays dead out of understanding that the threats come to Earth for HIM, so that Gohan can grow up to become a scholar like he WANTS, and all anyone talks about is how Piccolo is the better father, totally neglecting everything important Goku does for his son If Goku really was as bad a father as y'all who only seem to have watched Abridged say he is, the timeline would NEVER move past Future Trunks's timeline, because even with Trunks's help, history would just repeat itself, because Goku would never care to train Gohan, and Gohan would be left the lone warrior of the future once more, with nothing but the bare ass basics of training under his belt he got before the Saiyans arrived

I actually missed most of The Cell Saga. I started watching when American Dragonball was new. Seeing the episodes was a matter of tuning in at the right time. My folks had this annoying habit of grabbing the TV Guide as soon as it arrived. I usually did not know where it was.

Goku sacrificed himself to save Gohan against Raditz, that's the very first big fight of the series, he kinda did do it before Piccolo, not that Piccolo's isn't a heartwrenching moment, but y'all need to cut Goku some slack, he died TWICE for Gohan, one simply to rescue him, from his own BROTHER, mind you, and another in fixing what was effectively Gohan's greatest mistake, not killing Cell
