ive been following mamamax for a long time, for a while before his "vigilante" content I guess, and it always baffled me how little attention he got. He brought up some truly disturbing and sickening issues, evidence of each which he granted to the authorities, hour long videos with links and interviews and proof of terrible things on youtube like pedophilia and animal abuse for years now. I only hope now that he's getting some desperately needed attention, even in an unconventional way, youtube will make a change.

I just had my video talking about the history of jackass taken down. I showed nothing graphic and deliberately avoided anything bad, muted all swearing etc. The whole video is utilising footage that is currently on KZfaq right now. They took it down for dangerous content. My suspicion is because at the end of the video I talked about KZfaqs over bearing censorship is very similar to the issues jackass faced with censorship from cable tv.

Aside from the memes, you're an incredibly articulate and well-spoken individual. I'm very happy that you've brought up this situation, this is probably the best video describing it. Let's hope 2022 is a bit better for KZfaq.

The issue of dark content getting taken down is so serious, information is one of the most powerful things we have. Taking down videos exposing bad actors to warn potential victims and reduce bad peoples influence is short sighted and horrible. History content is one of the best ways to both learn about and understand the lessons of history in a fun way but mentioning the dark parts that need to be talked about results in strikes. Independent creators have made incredible horror and arg content on this platform only to have their vision and creativity nerfed. Channels that talk about and try to help/inform people about abuse go from safe spaces to overly censored and half as effective. When things are catered to the advertisers everybody loses, the creators, the viewers, and KZfaq’s wide variety of content to draw people in.

Even though Charlie is completely correct with his take of #pickasideyoutube, opposing Max's message at the end, I noticed that channels are kind of now shitting on Max and making him out to be a cringy asshole for this trend he created, when it was just a mistake for his hashtag that was not executed in the right way. Charlie and Max are some of my favorites when it comes to KZfaqrs, and Charlie is the perfect middle ground for the situation. I hope Mama Max acknowledges this all in a KZfaq video to clear up the stigma surrounding his misguided hashtag.

Keeping any group people in an ignorance bubble doesn't protect them when it pops. Only education and acknowledging the problem does. The real issue is how KZfaq just handles every issue that its creators has in a singleton way when there are clear systemic problems, and never address the root issues, preferring to sweep things under the rug. I think the first instinct of the site would be, when a shitstorm happens, "Okay, our solution is to bring MamaMax's video back. We'll keep letting other investigative videos get struck though." And it's proven effective because people just seem to forgive and forget when individual creators are restituted, while those who don't have a Twitter following have no recourse. KZfaq sticks their head in the sand and tries to pretend there's no problems if the problems are tricky to address. A big movement that doesn't back down unless something internally changes for the better is needed. Because I suspect that even if it's not at the top, there's still people within KZfaq that have conflicts of interest that cause them to unfairly strike down content or keep it struck down on manual review. Or very poor/inconsistent rules given to their manual review teams. The algorithm has its own issues, but I don't see how that could be fixed short of removing the automation which would pretty much break KZfaq entirely, given how reliant it is on automation. However, calling unrelated individuals out seems like a bad move. My biggest complaint was that he clearly brought up a personal beef with Corpse -- whoever the hell that even is, I'm unfamiliar with their content -- and clearly and publically tried to do moral ransom. It was a clear attempt to force his hand using rather underhanded public shaming for a completely unrelated and personal issue. He did not need to go into details of how he was personally wronged. That, if you ask me, was the one point where he really crossed the line. One really has to be careful, either way, when they bring out any sort of 'with us or against us' mentality, because it's an extremely slippery slope. But worse is that I'm concerned that dropping a bomb like this won't even guarantee the core issue be addressed. That is, KZfaq sticking their heads in the sand when they make decisions everyone hates, and not listening to criticism. Because, yes -- people ARE sick of how KZfaq practices the definition of insanity.

For anyone who doesn't have much time, here's a summary : Cr1tikal stands behind Mama Max's message of KZfaq being unfair to content creators who investigate/create content on darker subject matters, however he doesn't agree with Mama Max's method of making it a "pick a side" type thing, in Charlie's opinion this create in-fighting and oversimplifies Mama Max's message.
