My chinese friends brought chinese sweets to school and dried red melon seeds. The sesame balls and rice cake were my favourites. I miss those. Never got such wonderful sweets in any supermarkets in Europe or even in San Francisco.

The pork is a Chinese dish called "Char siu" but we Mauritians call it "Chassive" (slightly modified Char Siu).

Ooh, looks delicious! I can't have the pork or shellfish, but everything else is fair game. I'd like to try the beef especially. Also, I like tofu. I cut it up in thin strips and fry it till it's crispy. Usually I'll make teriyaki tofu, but spicy barbeque is great too.
