Things don't go exactly as planned during pick-up of our Ocala Florida EMM horses!
These horses will be available for adoption after 100 days of training. If interested in adopting, please come meet us at the Extreme Mustang Makeover April 29-30th 2022 in beautiful Ocala Florida. You won't want to miss it!

About the competition:
Trainers will showcase the trust they are able to build with an untouched wild horse in just 100 days of training. The trainers and horses will compete with their new skills in three classes - handling & conditioning, trail, and maneuvers. A freestyle showdown of the top 10 competitors will decide who is crowned champion. With $40,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs, it’s going to be extreme!

Hey guys! Just a couple things I didn't feel I needed to say until now... 1) We are extremely grateful for the wonderful loading team that made a potentially bad situation end on a good note! The situation was resolved quickly and safely. These individuals have loaded thousands of wild horses and know more than I or you. My heart was in my throat, but they handled it with grace. 2) Anyone commenting in an attempt to throw anyone under the bus, point out perceived "mistakes" or behave in a pretentious manner whatsoever will be booted. This is your final warning. Unless you have a college degree in loading wild horses, zip it. 🤫

loading accidents happen, even with tame and gentle horses that developped fear in the process. Had one like that for 28 years. Maybe my fault he never got over it. So, grizzly situation for this poor little guy and your team, too. Hope he did not hurt himself. Its painful to see, though, as for flight-animals its a trauma to lay on its back and cannot get up.

I held my breath during that loading scene.... Then cried my eyes out when he finally trusted you and took that first step back at HOME. 😭❤️🐎

Things just happened so quickly. One horse was going 100mph and the others were taking their time.

Why do y’all have those ropes on the horses anyway that’s how they get hurt

Some BLM facilities require horses to leave with a halter and lead already attached. Wether the prospective adopted wants one on or not. Leaving ropes on is also very good for teaching horses to give to pressure.

For a 100 day competition, we can't risk these guys taking forever to catch, so everyone was haltered. Drag lines aren't dangerous if done correctly and help get them used to things touching their legs, and when they step on them, they work out what to do about halter pressure on their own. I removed mine after 24 hours.
