You can't put a price tag on the sense of self worth you get from doing a job yourself. Thank you for sharing this video, after multiple searches for a replacement guard for my Yamaha fg75, and an outrageous quote from a local repair shop, I came across your video. It took some steel nerves cutting and sanding the raw tortoloid I ordered, but it came out beautifully and I couldn't be happier!

Good tutorial. Thanks. I use a cloth wheel in my Dremel at to polish the beveled edge, with low pressure to avoid burning. Dipping the wheel in polishing compound renders the beveled edge as glossy as the surface. Use medium to slow speed if using a felt wheel.

Pick guards try to shrink and pull on wood ,which then cracks the top as a result . I remove all my pick guards to allow the wood to breed rather then try to make the guitar look pretty .

Great video! I had the pickguard on my Taylor installed incorrectly, the placing. I could now remove the existing pickguard and reuse it to place it correctly by following your videos. Please could you tell me the specific type of 3M sticker which you have used to stick the pickguard back on, it would really help, thank you in advance

Soap is a surfactant. It helps break up the surface tension of the water which helps reduce the number of bubbles you have to squeegee out.

Wait I've done this before. A long time ago though, and it was tor-tis. A I'm getting a new one made form a sheet thta will be done soon. What is the water for? I don't remember using that before. Thanks.
