Picking green beans using a brand new Ploeger BP2140e from Laarakker Groentenverwerking. This company, based in southern part of the Netherlands, is one of the largest producers of vegetables in the country. They operate 6 of these bean pickers from where we see two in action on this field.
It was a bit difficult to film in detail how this pickers work, but in sort: the beans are stripped from the stems and go on conveyers inside the machine where four large suction blowers remove the remaining leaves. After the beans are picked they are loaded on to trucks witch brings them to the factory where they are processed within a few hours, to keep them fresh as possible, and canned in.
