Here's a story of a period of a few months in 1994 when I picked up a woman at a truck stop and she roamed the country with me.

Oh man quite the story, I like listening to stories from truck drivers. You guys always seem to have the best ones. You were young so probably too young to think a girl getting dropped like that at night was because she meant trouble

Oh, wow...what a story, BostonTrucker. You had me grinning all the way! Best part(s) of all...landmarks we've all been to over the years...TA in Girard, and....yes...the "Petro 2" in Kingston Springs TN! Think about it, Mike...how many people know what a Petro "2" is (or was??)...those were rarities, for sure. Kingston Springs was the only one I ever found in all my OTR years...actually have a cap I bought there! Thanks for takin' us along for the ride during this "coronacation"! Be safe, brother...

@@TheBostonTrucker Hey Mike...I believe you're right about the "one-and-only" Petro 2. Back then, a "new generation" of limited "fuel stops" started cropping-up...i.e. Love's and Pilot (long before the latter merged with Flying J). I even remember a few Flying J Fuel Stops scattered-around America. There was actually one a couple miles from where I once lived in Southern California...perfect to park my truck whenever I got back to the house for a couple days. Flying J closed it decades ago...became an ordinary Mobil gas station (selling diesel). Take good care...

I knew exactly where this story was headed when he said he saw a girl getting thrown out of a car with baggage getting thrown. Then it went exactly where I thought it was going. I guess the moral is lost souls: Men. you can fall back on truck driving. Women can fall back on stripping prostitution and marrying truck drivers. "trucking costed me a marriage" Nah, it was destined for failure.

Man that is so classic late 80s early 90s trucking. Seems like the roads were littered with crazy chick's with a hard luck story and drivers who were trying to help out. A lot of young drivers got themselves into trouble like that because they just didn't have the life experience to deal with predatory, psycho drug addicted, or mentally ill prostitutes.
