So clear, and it works! Hint: the “closing the gap” stitches (2 each side of the gap) are “extra” and will be decreased later, so make sure you pick up all the specified number of stitches between the gap sections. The extra gap stitches get incorporated as we work the round.

As I was finishing the body of a top down sweater, I needed a refresher on tubular bind off and found your channel. It was terrific. And then when it came time to pick up sleeve stitches, which I almost dreaded, because of those pesky holes that ALWAYS were a finishing problem. I found your video. Thank you for a clear method of avoiding underarm holes in top down sweaters. I have used this method several times. Yesterday I discovered a different way to accomplish this - I treated the long thread as a dropped stitch and picked it up with a crochet hook and pulled it through the adjoining stitch and put it onto the needle.
