In this video, players who have difficulty hitting effective shots to allow them to move up to the non-volley zone. The result??? They get caught mid-court or further back. There's a lot to learn from watching this video. Check it out.

The near court players didn't move up when they hit many perfect 3rd and 5th shot drops. 😮. That's crazy. Wonder if they even know to move up. Would be fun to watch a more recent game with these two so that we could see their progress.

You would be amazed to find out their DUPRS 5.32, 4.34, 4.24, 4.16 (can you guess which is which?). I play with these gentlemen, and lack of windscreens is awful when windy ( by the sky look, its probably 20mphs easily). Thats why i play at a different park with windscreens so that wind doesn't diminish the play.

I realize one game is a small sample size. However, if anyone thinks the way these players played in this game is at the 4.0 level or above is fooling themselves. And that is where the flaw is with the dupr rating system. Four players playing above the 4.0 level would never make 30 unforced errors in one game.

@@pickleballpick-apart9787 I agree with you that the gameplay looked very sloppy. I appreciate you counting the errors in the match. Takes time and effort to do that. However, how often do people play 20+mph winds with no windscreens? As a reminder, PPA delayed their most recent tournament due to 20mph wind. I was also informed that it was sprinkling during the game (can you tell? I couldn't and had to be informed and I know it was raining that entire week in the area). The gentleman with 5.32 rating has regularly won PPA and APP 5.0 50+ category and has an APP Senior Pro Tour medal in mixed. He regularly wins several matches in each Senior Pro Tour entry. Personally, I wouldn't post such a video with such weather conditions, but I applaud them for being brave enough to do that. Again, that's why I choose not to play at this park regularly. Sand getting onto the courts is another concern at this park.

You're welcome. It's kind of interesting that in a 20 mph wind the trees are not blowing about. I would think if the wind was 20 mph, the tree limbs would be swaying. @@vladjax_pb

Disagree these are all that nice. The court surfaces look good, but they don't have any separation fence/net between the courts. So if they were busy you probably get the "Ball" interuption constantly especially in middle courts and if any wind. Not sure why they didn't build them with dividers. Also, no wind-breaks. And finally I would like to see the kitchen a different (3rd) color paint from the main court and the out of bounds areas. -- A couple of these guys are over 3.0 but not much over that = agree.

Thanks for your comment. I get what you're saying about balls entering other courts and having to yell, Ball! It seems to happen most often when a very important point is taking place.

About 14:30 minutes in, you comment that the guy in red shirt hits a "perfect" 3rd shot drop, and you expected the receiving team to move up to the NVZ, but they don't. However, the guy in the white shirt had a very aggressive response, suggesting that yes, the 3rd shot went over the net, but wasn't really a "perfect" drop. A perfect 3rd shot is not attackable, and this clearly was attackable. By the time the white shirt guy hits it, it is now at least 8 feet from the net and at net height, allowing the player in white to drive it back. I think the receiving team acted appropriately by staying back. Love your videos analyses, but disagree on this one, although I sure agree that this is not 4.0 + play and their ain't no wind to speak of!

these are newbies...paddles dangling at waist, off the balls of their feet, waiting way to long to make it to the net, too many popups... give them a few years

I love most of your videos, but I think you were rather harsh on these guys. Especially given what others have stated that it was very windy and the courts were wet. I have played in those conditions and for a rec game you don't rush to the kitchen and risk twisting an ankle, just not worth it. Sure they did things wrong, but this video just is not up to the quality analysis you normally do. I would suggest you stick to videos of actual matches where you know the level of players, and know the court and conditions. Sorry, just picking it apart as I see it ;)

No problem. If you read in the comments section, someone says he knows these players. He says three of them are above 4.0 and one is above 5.0. I simply do not believe that.

A friend and I were drilling/practicing- for about 45 minutes, some people showed up and a woman in another group yelled at us from other side of courts to tell us we have had the court for more than a half hour and we needed to leave. The people waiting were teenagers in flip flops - and they proceeded to play in sandals. I don't mind giving up the court- but 30 minutes? and to give it up to idiots who want to play in sandals? I cannot wait until November - temps will be in the 40's and most people will stay home

these are nice brand new courts they just put in a few likes from where I live. The wind screens should be in very soon. The reason the courts aren’t crowded is because it is brutally hot right now in NE Florida where the courts are located. It’s probably early afternoon 100’. They do fill up somewhat in the mornings and evenings.
