Picos de Europa was Spain's first national park, total area is 671km², shared by Asturias, Cantabria and Castile y León three autonomous regions. Torre de Cerredo is the highest point of the park at 2648m above sea level. The coastline is only 20 kilometers away and the climate is humid, resulting in frequent fog here.
Lagos de Covadonga is the iconic scenic spot of the Peak of Europe. The clear and calm lake and the herds of cattle and sheep here make it known as "Little Switzerland".
