I’m so glad they did this in honor of my grandfather (Ferrell) retiring as a Silver Eagle, he passed in 2016 and I miss him every day! He was an amazing pilot. Growing up on our airport watching pawpaw and dad restore cubs and Cessna’s was the best!

I love this. My dad started at Piedmont in 53 on a DC-3 and retired with them a week before the USair merger. He was flying a 767 to LGW. I loved working for this company.

I used to watch Piedmont and Eastern landing and taking off at Woodrum Field on Saturdays from the control tower. Either rode the bus out or bicycled out for the afternoon.Life was great then.

Great spot landing. Watch the flaps come up for better braking.
