Is piedmontese a mixture of french and italian.

@@jonnykaykorn3060 Yes, My family comes from Piemonte, and my family is a mix of Italian and French,But the cooking we do Italian and not really french. We never learned to cook french. And the reasons why there is a lot of mixed french-italian is that the border closes at french. The cooking that we not learned to cook french is that the female line is Italian. And in the french region closed to the border where family later moves you see also more french-italian mixed families

@@tonnyengert As with many border regions of Europe, there are italian parts of france and french parts of italy, dutch, german, catalan, basque, breton areas of the country are french, but not at the same time. It would have been easier if borders made more sense. But as is the case with US states.

A bit out of the way but sad you didn’t include the Aosta valley. It looks like a beautiful place with castles, mountains and Roman ruins.

Hi James, the reason why Aosta Valley is not in the Piedmont travel guide is because it's not in Piedmont but in a different region: Aosta Valley Region. I can confirm that it's a very beautiful place 😍

Hello soon i will be moving to Italy but i cant choose between Turin and Milan. Can someone pls give me some advices and comparisons between two cities?
@ItalybyItalians
@ItalybyItalians 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Afaq, thank you for your question. Milan is the most culturally diverse city you can find in Italy. It is on average more expensive and especially rents are high. It hosts a great deal of cultural events and it's well-connected to the entire Italy and to Europe in general. From Milan you can visit a high number of nice cities and places in a one-day trip (for example consider that in 1h30mins you can go to Florence or Venice). The weather can be cold and the city is subject to fog. If you are looking for a job Milan is probably the best option as it is the economic centre of Italy and it has many more offers. Turin instead is smaller but still it's one of the major cities in Italy. It is more economic and it might be easier to afford an apartment near the city centre. Turin has a high number of university students so the city centre is very young and dynamic. If you love skiing or wine Turin is a great destination: it's not far from some of the best ski facilities in the Alps and is very close to the production centres of Barolo and other famous Italian wines (many one-day trips to different wine cellars!). Compared to Milan is on the western part of Italy so it's less well-connected. On average winter in Turin is a bit colder than in Milan. Subscribe to our channel so you will be notified when our video about Lombardy region & Milan will be published! I hope you will find this info useful :)

@@ItalybyItalians thank you for your answer! Could you pls tell me more about differences in mentality between the two regions if they even exist and maybe a little bit more information about social life?
@ItalybyItalians
@ItalybyItalians 3 жыл бұрын
@@afaqiskenderova9029 We wouldn't say there are big differences in mentality, after all they are just 150 km apart! We can tell you that as Milan is a very important city for fashion it is probably the city with most posh people in Italy. For what concerns lifestyle, as Milan is the economic centre of Italy, imagine the life you would lead in any major capital: fast-paced and chaotic. Turin would probably be a more relaxing option. Good luck with your choice!

Torino is the Italian name of the city. In Piedmontese language, the regional language, its name is Turin but of course it’s not pronounced like an English speaker would.
