the best thing is to keep water from getting under your house and causing the ground to swell and heave your piers up. If that happens make sure you have good ventilation so that the ground will dry out and stabilize and your piers will reset. Here in Dallas Ft Worth area the rule is to have two ft drainage from your house and a way to drain to the alley or street. Just any kind of a slight slope from the house. Don't use soaker hoses they will draw termites. (Some trades will disagree )

Talk to a Drainage and foundation Engineer in your area for the best fix. Some times it's just a simple repair. Old pier and beam houses move around all the time unless you have 50 ft or deeper piers. Thanks for asking

It's best to have an engineer to do the before and after consulting and have a documents sign and seal in case you sell the house or that you ever need to borrow against. I've been there

It's best to have an engineer to do the before and after consulting and have a documents sign and seal in case you sell the house or that you ever need to borrow against. I've been there

Did you buy those pads or are those pads that you made? I have to reinforce an area of my house and I wasn't sure if it would be better to buy something like that or to dig a hole and pour something using rebar and 5000 psi concrete.

I never could understand why people dig a hole, put a house over it then wonder why water goes underneath. If I ever build a house. I will have it above built above the elevation of my yard. Duh

In the Dallas Mesquite area , Williams concrete on Forney Rd . In your area call all your concrete companies and you will find one or will supply a company.. Make sure they are re-enforced for engineer approval

Huello Sr I like you video. I have a question. I buy a house in waco. Texas and we have aproblemas. Every. time. rain the water. go inder of the house we worry. about that because is a lot water our foundation is concrete. +Teresa rivera tejada It really depends on the soil of your area, and when the house was built. . Number 1 problem of slab house is water pooling against the house and working it's way under it .First solution is to figure out where the water is pooling and find a way to divert it away around and away from the house. Second solution is a french drain and it would be best to call an foundation engineer and not a foundation company. Make sure he is a certified engineer and you get a final report after work is done . You will need it if you ever need to sell or get a home loan or refinance your house. Question is do you have any doors that are not closing properly ?? Are there any cracks ?starting to show?? I will answer any questions you have . thank you for respond me. The house. was build in 1950. and yeso there are some cracks on the walls but littles, some doors no closing propertly but not to hard. Do you have information about companies can help me? is to expensive fix my problem?

+Teresa rivera tejada Depends on what city you live. If your house is that old and you are having that small of problems then you are one of the lucky homeowners with good soil. What you need is some kind of french drain to divert the water away from your house. If I have time tomorrow I send you a video on what to do to help your problem.

does 8 x 8 x 4 inch 5000psi concrete block work to support jack?

They would work for a jack but put a piece of 2 X 12 on concrete then the jack on top of that , That keeps from breaking the jack base. 12 X 12 concrete would work better. use 24" X 24" X 4" concrete blocks for permanent pier blocks then shim on top of that
