The HDRP is equipped with a Pierce #PUCPump which allows for maximum interior storage for tactical vests, helmets and gas detectors. Forward facing seats and lowered compartments allow for increased situational awareness. Wireless headsets are stored in the cab to enable the crew to communicate with each other in all locations on scene. Exterior compartments and crosslays will store backboards, EMS equipment, operator’s equipment and extinguishers. An additional cutout in the rear officer’s side compartment creates space for a large ventilation fan. A covered hosebed has mirroring coffin boxes for hazmat storage. On the officer’s side are slide out trays for extrication equipment, extinguishers and hand tools. Specialized mirrors and high visibility lighting on all sides of the apparatus increase firefighter safety on scene in #CollegeStationTX.
