Hearing people talk about masking feels so liberating to watch. Knowing someone has gone through the same experience helps you realise you're not alone

I like how he's not being dramatic about that. Ok, something was hard for me, but I wanted it and enoyed the achievements, so it was worth it. But if I wouldn't care, I wouldn't be doing that. So simple and adequate approach. And I remember myself trying to get the same understanding of how to answer to rude or provocative stuff. I still do, sometimes. So it's a nice angle of seeing it - your insult or rudness should be one percent above 😄 I can somehow feel the consept. So thanks, I am definitely going to use that

My brother has aspergers and can't do banter. But really surprises me when he's much more social conscious than myself sometimes. I think because he's had to learn social rules he can act out the right template even when the situation is stressful.

@@theodoreroosevelt7224 I have ASD that would have fallen into the aspergers category if I had been diagnosed earlier lol and I still can't do banter. In fact I pretty much despise it but at the end of the day I just don't engage and people who are close to me know I don't tolerate it. But yeah like, I understand social rules but I just think some of them are just.. borderline abusive, especially in the case of banter where I've noticed that it's often used as an excuse for bullying. Interestingly enough, I find Roasts to be a different beast altogether, despite having roughly the same premise. I think it's due to the fact that Roasts are far more clearly set up and the context far more clearly defined. Hell, there's usually even an announcement that "this is a roast" xD Banter is more on the fly and yeah.. urgh. No thanks lol.
