To quite a lot of non dog owners, having dogs jumping up at you is alarming/scary/annoying and the argument "look how docile it is, it wouldn't hurt a fly" is what every dog owner trots out when we have no idea of how it is behaving or what it's intentions are.

It's my impression that the man was a total stranger who didn't know the dog at all. Maybe he was startled when it suddenly came at him barking. Maybe he doesn't like dogs and you can't fault him for whatever his feelings were. To me that man's feelings certainly go before those of a dog. I'm not British and I'm not an expert in law but I believe that in my country dogs are required by law to be on a lead in public.

@azilgaard where i am from we have off leash parks for dogs. I believe in the UK the areas where dogs should be on a leash are clearly marked as such.

I have a dog, I live in the centre of the E. Sooke park which has hours of trails. What I don't like is people with off leash dogs saying don't worry he won't bite. The problem with this is, one time a neighbor did get bit by a medium sized dog. My dog is around 21 pounds female alpha. I've had german shepherd neighbor dog come outside its property and attack me, my dog and my girls. My neighbors dog literally was guarding my house, front door, against homeowner intrusion. I had to drive over to rural neighbor and insist they control their dog. So sure, dog is nice, happy friendly etc but what if others are afraid of dog? What if they had bad experiences and dog is nowhere close to the owner or under any control? These are things to consider.

Out in the rural areas, dogs can be shot for chasing livestock. So people tend to keep them under control. My friend had her turkey flock torn apart by a neighbor’s dog, only one bird survived. . That neighbor denied it until she showed him the video.

I totally agree with you. I have always liked how Piers Morgan tells it like it is. He has been in the business a very long time, so it seems he is more liked than disliked. He tells it like it is, no sugar coating it. Henry lost a few cases to him already, in my opinion, if you don’t like him then don’t watch him. As a dog trainer with 25 years full time experience I understand that you know your dog is friendly but other people don’t. Some people are genuinely terrified of dogs and we shouldn’t assume that all people love our dogs because we think they’re amazing. It’s up to us to ensure our dogs are well trained and don’t approach people unless invited. I teach up to 450 dogs per week in classes and private tuition and I can assure you I deal with people everyday of my life who truly believe their dog is friendly when they are categorically not friendly at all. Sadly, the majority of the dog owning public have trouble identifying dog emotions and behavioural states. In Australia, where I live, dogs don’t need to be dangerous, the owner can be fined for having a menacing dog also. Relatively recently a major hardware chain store here changed their policy allowing “friendly” dogs into their stores which lead multiple bites (to humans and dogs) and dog fights in these stores. Now dogs must be muzzled to enter these stores.

While I agree with you, as a dog owner receiving an aggressive response from the other person would be inappropriate. I was bitten as a child and yes dog owners need to comtrol their pets at all times. I have a rescue dog that has required much training & I would never fully trust any dog around young children, particularly if the dog has strong prey instinct. That person's aggressive action or screeching by kids can unfortunately tip a rescue dog back into bad memories & trigger reflex defence mechanisms.

Yes, the Floof is gorgeous and looks pretty harmless, but for someone who has been attacked by a dog, the feeling of being threatened by one is as great as the fear you felt when the guy came at you with his hands up. I was attacked by a dog as a child and I also carry a terror of dogs running at me following a narrow escape from two attacking pitbulls some years ago. In the panic, noticing that the dog has a ball in its mouth simply wouldn't kick into gear. For that reason, I never go into a leash-free park.

I love dogs, though my sister has an uncontrollable phobia to them. She’s so terrified of the very smallest one and deathly scared of the larger ones. So encountering what you feel is your adorable friendly and harmless sweet puppy, feels like she’s come face to face with the devil. So keep ur dogs on a leash and away from other people and their pets.

Its about time that those two were told the real truth. They can't handle the real truth. Just look at Henry's court case where he exaggerated about things and wasn't pulled up for lying in court. Seems it's alright for Henry to take pot shot at his family but when they're caught out they don't like it. The truth isn't something that Henry or his handler know about. If only those two were taken to count for there lies they've told....don't they realise the truth will set them both free.....😮

Canadians complain a lot as well........walking my big black lab (on leash) ....small terrier dog runs up to us (off leash ) barking, my dog barks at it , scares the it and the woman tells me i should have better control of my dog. I told her to have a nice day and by the way, leashes are on sale at Petsmart.

I agree with the jogger. You need to have your dog on a lead if he is going to run up to people. Some people are terrified of dogs and shouldn't have to stay away from recreational areas for fear of being approached by a dog. That person doesn't know your dog and it could be the softest dog in the world but the rest of the general public don't know that. Keep him on a lead unless in a private space. Stop giving dog owners a bad name. I have 3 dogs and none of them are allowed to run free in public. We hire a field for free running.

On the lesser issue , the runner wasn't to know that you lovely cute dog is harmless. 😂 To him it might have felt like an "invasion" of his space and his relaxation time. Spoken by a person who has some fear of dogs and who had had nurmerous scary encounter with knee- hight dogs who grawl and bark and jump and owner laughed and say "it's OK. He/ she won't hurt you". Yeah right!!😝

Sorry to write this but all dogs should be on a leash near people or other animals they are not familiar with.My dog is the love of my life ,but i do know those who dont know her may not agree

Whilst I enjoy your videos, your statement about the Floof showed me that you are typical of many of a dog owner in that you expect that everyone to think about your dog in the same way that you do. As someone who was attacked by a dog as a child, I have quite a lot of fear of dogs and prefer not to be barked at by them as I see it as a threat. That is not irrational - one small dog in my locality was notorious for nipping people. Anyone who does not know your dog can have no assessment as to its motives. This is not a criticism, merely feedback that you are perhaps looking at the world through one lens when others exist.

Controlling your dog is a responsibility. Not everyone likes a dog; not least an off leash barking dog…doesn’t matter how gentle the owner thinks their dog is. Dog owners don’t have rights to allow their dogs to bother people…or to decide what bothers other people about their dog’s behaviour.

On the other side of the doggy debate ... a dog ran between my son's legs, he fell over and broke his arm. So your Floof might not be aggressive, but he could still be out of control and a danger to someone who is running.

@@Deb.-. Follow the facts. Floof, the dog had a ball in his mouth and he barked with a ball in his mouth at a MAN. In your imaginary scenario MY child would not be running out of my control in which a dog would have been able to approach because I am a responsible parent that keeps an eye on my children. It's always good to be aware of your surroundings at all times.

I am scared of all dogs and owners always say ' she wont hurt you' as its jumping up on me or my grandchildren. i prefer them on leads....however fluffy they are with their owners.

Does Ofcom actually check where these complaints originate from? Or do they just accept the numbers without question? I believe if they checked, they would find an incredible amount of trolls and bots behind those numbers.

Dont really know Peirs. He isnt someone that gets a lot of airtime in what I listen to or watch (Southern US). But if you are referring to the comment that he made about wishing Harry would stop exposing his family's privacy, he was only telling the truth. Its laughable that Harry is taking newspapers to court over his private matters, when Harry in turn, tells the world about William, Camilla, and Catherine's private world. I wish Harry would keep his mouth shut too.
