Bill Maher and Piers Morgan randomly riff on the Meghan Markle controversy, how the Brits are becoming as sensitive as Americans, why Yoko did not break up The Beatles, successful civilizations becoming weak, and how athletes like Naomi Osaka are celebrated more for quitting than winning.

Loved this. 9 minutes in and discussing pub culture. Last time I was in England, I arrived around 8:30pm, ordered dinner and a glass of wine at my hotel. I asked if I could take the remaining glass up to my room with my meal. The manager said "the glass? You could take the whole bottle!" I said "Oh, well that would just be pathetic." He replied "No, that would just be British!" 😄

Kudos to Piers for sticking up for the Queen. Bill just doesn't understand that the Queen, regardless of the absurdity of royal families, is a beloved symbol of British solidarity who has served her country with dignity and class for over 70 years. The Queen has earned the respect of the British people and they love her like their own grandmother. After her though, all bets are off.

Really?? When Bill started the Meagan and Oprah thing and referred to the Queen as "an old bag", Piers cut him off and they ended up going down a completely different path and never got back to the original topic. They started talking about "your majesty", garden parties, and pubs. But I get it. Bill cut him off a bunch of times. Piers almost couldn't finish the Simone Biles discussion.

I thought he was right to cut Bill off. It was a flippant comment. Like or hate the royals the Queen has taken her duty seriously. They could have left the country in WWII to go to Canada for safety and they stayed. I think Piers was just respecting the history and Bill calling her an old bag was a lazy joke. Likewise I thought Piers was out of line with Simone Biles and he got called out by Bill. I thought it was just an honest conversation. I enjoyed it.

@@marycalolefsin9717 I did like that he has respect for The Queen and the concept of Royalty. I'm not British but I am originally from Canada-which is part of the commonwealth and the Queen's face is still plastered over all of the Canadian currency. I have respect for her( kind of like the same way I respect my grandmother) and I respect the position that she holds but personally, I don't believe in the concept of royalty and as a kid, I never knew what the Queen's job actually was and to this day, if you asked me what she does, I still couldn't tell you. She's just a ceremonial figurehead at this point but then that's true for most royal families of the world. The only real monarchs that have any real power from what I've seen and observed appear to be the ones in Arabic countries.

I am a 60 year old boomer. I've always registered as an Independent because I do not fully identify with either party. Good for you that you're open to discovering your political identity. I have tended to vote Republican for federal offices because I lean into their broader platform while frequently voting Democrat for state offices whose issues feel more local and contained. I have tremendous sympathy for Libertarians because limiting government is always my default. I have antipathy for Communists who as a form of government must always become fascists, but I completely understand that Socialists are a completely different animal and that my entire life has been about adopting more and often better socialist policies. Beautifully conducted watched through the whole thing. Loved the idea of not changing the subjects coz we ran out of time. Everything flows naturally in these settings and one totally feels like a part of the experience rather than a viewer.

Nope, this is a show about him talking to people. Saw one of his promo on the Carolla Podcast (another dude who invites people to listen to him talk) and he literally said he wanted a show where he gets stoned and have guests listen to him talk 😅 so this is what he advertised.

Always hated Piers Morgan as a "right wing" (or maybe "right RING" as in to kissing the Queen's ), blow hard; but as my 19-year-old WOKE NYC daughter would say about the SussexES, "he called it." I love this. It shows PM's sense of humor, his intelligence and more importantly, it shows that he's just a standup guy. And by the way, thank you for all of your shows on the TG issue and women's sports. BTW, this comment is coming from a hard-core New York City "Tribeca" liberal! Bill Maher , please continue this format with one on one guests.

I love this pod interview, diversity in opinion is so important. We can love each other, respect each other, and still disagree. That’s how it was when I was young but in my early 20’s, (early 2000’s), things began to change. it’s driving this horrible environment of “cancel culture” and it’s dividing us in extreme ways. I disagree will Bill on some of his statements/opinions but, I respect where he’s coming from. Anyways, Luv this pod!

Now, thanks to Maher, I can say I agree with you on so much more. I’m glad to hear you say you lean left…something I was never sure about. I'm originally British but now in the US. I pegged Megan Markle as a narcissist when she played the victim card, but oh dear, I got banned from my Kamala Harris Facebook group for saying that. They were calling me racist for not believing Megan. That was frustrating. I don't have the racist cultural background. But unfortunately for me I have experience with narcissists.

How do you get HBO? VPN? Didn’t know you can get Real time here. I just download the podcast and listen to it, and watch over time on KZfaq. I can’t get into subscribing to Stan, Binge etc. all these things so segregated, it’s too much. There isn’t even a bundle if you subscribe to the lot because they are competing.

Bill, My significant other has been a Beatles fan most of his life. I didn't get it. We're both born in the early 70's but my parents were Elvis fans. The Beatles were "long haired hippies". I watched Get Back with him and was mesmerized. Everything you said about the musicianship...actually watching them create songs that I didn't even know were Beatles songs at the time, changed everything for me. Anyone who loves music should watch Get Back. I've never been a fan of RealTime, but this show is awesome. Thanks.
