My son has autism and tourettes, he doesn't get a fraction of the support these "trans kids" get at school, his mother and I are constantly fighting to get him the support and educational help he needs to live an as close to normal life as possible, it makes me sick that we prioritise this kind of absolute crap over real world problems, if I didn't pay as much tax and national insurance he would be in a private school away from this rubbish

None of us felt comfortable in our bodies during puberty and teenage years. We dealt with it, and as we grew older we came to terms with our insecurities. We didn’t pretend to be a different gender just because we didn’t yet know exactly where we fit in.

The fact that we've allowed any of this complete BS into our schools and into our child's minds is sick. Just because some extreme minority of kids have mental issues does not justify confusing the rest of our kids regarding gender, what sex they are and allowing boys into girls rooms. It's complete insanity and should be called just that, even if it hurts a few of these radicals feelings.

I’m a primary school teacher. I’m not qualified to diagnose Trans kids. That’s the job of the parents to take their kids to the doctors/psychologists. If something comes up from the child I’ll report it a CP issue. It’s not my job to deal with that. It’s a stupid idea and the government just needs to ban school intervention and place it squarely on the parents shoulders. Simple as that

If a child has a medical condition and the school withholds that information from the parents or guardians, it should be a criminal offense.

As a child, I used to think and proclaim that I was "Goku" from Dragon Ball Z! Looking back, I now realize it was just childhood imagination. Many of my close friends are teachers. One of their schools had students protest that they wanted kitty litter installed in the toilets because some of them identify as cats. It got as far as being actually considered by the education department. Ridiculous.

If the laws identify the parent as responsible for the child then the parent should be taken into account. Children are not allowed to take decision until they are adult but their wishes should be taken into account by the parents

The only time you hear about a child's suicide is when they are not accepted for reasons beyond pronouns, which is not the case and this is usually used by people like Paula, Ava, etc to push an idea. If everyone took their own lives due to not being accepted or called by their desired name, the population crisis people speak of would not be a problem. The real issues behind child suicide have nothing to do with pronouns but more with bullying, cyberbullying, etc. These are not made-up issues; a child doesn't commit suicide simply because someone refuses to call them by their preferred pronouns.
