Keep the monuments as well as statues. The entire movement behind this "take down the monuments" is another effort to torch the history and traditions of a country. I find it interesting that these debates pop up all over North America and Europe, but do not include Africa, Asia and South America where slavery was an institution for thousands of years and in some cases still rages today!

There’s a pub in Topsham, which is near Exeter (where I live) called the Lord Nelson Pub and Kitchen. I’m surprised that they’ve been allowed to keep their name through all of this…

This is a disingenuous argument. Neither of these women were even arguing for statues to be removed. Both said they want them to be viewed in a different context (i.e. take the good with the bad). I don’t know how they plan on doing that (maybe guided voice over tours or new plaques) and I’m afraid I’ll never know because Piers keeps interrupting. For someone who talks about others getting triggered, he sure does get his ego bruised easily. Also, this is a non-issue. We have bigger problems in this world than this culture war bs. People are going hungry and unhoused!

Because who do you think sold the slaves to white people and when the white people wanted to stop the African leaders not only didn't want to but carried on selling to the arabs
