The number of people who ridiculed and disparaged Princess Catherine is sickening. She asked for privacy. I underwent major abdominal surgery and once recovered enough, I began chemotherapy. I finished this round last week and am awaiting results. I only wanted my close family and friends. HRH deserves choosing for herself. She shared it with the world. Please let her have time.

erm the thing is, if you are going to demand that people be labelled properly you need to do that yourself. neither Kate nor Diana are or were or ever will be princesses. so while she may be Catherine, Princess of Wales she will never ever be Princess Catherine. so Kate Middleton is more correct, since that is what she was for 1/2 her life, than the 100 percent incorrect Princess Catherine which is a person that has never existed. correct=Catherine/Diana, Princess of Wales. incorrect=Princess Catherine/Diana. Princesses are born not created. Princess of Wales is a titled held by the wife of the title of Prince of Wales ie the monarchs eldest son. You can tell it is incorrect to call them Princess x because they move into and out of the Princess of Wales title as people die off. Charles wasn't Prince Charles because he was Prince of Wales, he was Prince Charles because his mother was a royal, in fact the head honcho royal in line when he was born...

They of course needed privacy and deserved it but their communications team were a nightmare. The picture with hindsight should never have been released. People were right to think there was something going on behind the scenes. There was! People didn’t need to be cruel and spread silly rumours but the Palace comms team needs a serious upgrade. It was a perfect storm with William pulling out of the memorial and needing two clarifications why (now we know) about what it wasn’t about. Terrible communications albeit in a very difficult situation.

To be fair, no one could have known Catherine had cancer - what were we to go on but a vague "abdominal surgery" description? - That could literally be anything. Of course people were speculative, although certainly conspiracy theorists went overboard, which likely prompted (more like forced) Catherine to speak out. In this case, Charles, Catherine, or any member of the royal family aren't obligated to say anything about their health conditions - but as two of the most famous people in the world, it would seem full transparency when something as significant as a cancer diagnoses arises right out of the gate (like Fergie) would be the best option to avoid a social media conspiracy theory firestorm lasting months....That being said, may Catherine find the rest, peace, and privacy to heal as she deserves, in whatever time she needs.... and may Meghan Markle withhold one-upping her at every opportunity with every merching asinine thing she is doing to "rebrand" herself... from an as yet unestablished "brand" these last 6 years.... My guess? Let's not hold our breaths.

There is a word in German that goes like this: Fremdschämen. It means, that someone is ashamed because of the bad behaviour of another person. That is what I feel for both Piers and Megyn. As a trained journalist myself, both by degree and a two-year apprenticeship I can‘t help myself but feeling ashamed. I think of journalists who lost their lives because they wanted to find out the truth behind all the lies and misleadings, like for instance Anna Politkovskaya did in Russia and many more like Daphne Caruana in Malta. Agree with so many commenting here. I often enjoy some of the shows with Piers and/or Megyn. But, it’s so true that what they’re saying now is quite different from past comments about many issues. I do think Megyn has grown and somewhat evolved on important issues but there’s also a condescending and smug tone when she’s interviewing certain people or having her discussion with the three-guys. I still like her shows a lot. Feel somewhat the same about Piers. I guess we just have to constantly remind ourselves that, while they do talk of serious news of the day, they are more “entertainers” than anything else.

Thank you Piers for recognizing the few actual respectable trans people who are having a fit with what is happening today. I had a lot of gay guy friends in the 70's and 80's while being in the food industry. They all kept a low profile and walked away from hate comments. Aside from the hypocrisy displayed by both reporters, and throughly critiqued by all the comments related to Princess Catherine’s condition below, I find Megan Kelly’s disingenuousness extraordinary. When talking about Ronna McDaniel’s removal from NBC, she purposely avoided mentioning that the reason for the reversal from NBC’s leadership was that the concerns raised by many of NBC’s reporters, many of whom are Republicans themselves, were that McDaniels perpetuated lies that the 2020 presidential election was rigged, and then verbally attacked honest journalists for accurate coverage, including pointing out the lies that Donald Trump and some Republicans were trying to sell.
