The Pieter Meijers Quartet with a Clarinet Trio: Having lots of fun plus really pounding out a stomp'n Sheik of Araby, at the November, 2010, Arizona Classic Jazz Festival in Chandler, Arizona. The session includes some educational discussion on their different kinds of clarinets, a clarification of Jim Snyder's shirt color, and a cat tale. Band members: Pieter Meijers reeds/leader; Clive Collins, bass; Dick Maley, drums; Randy Morris, piano; & 3 Clarinets: Pieter Meijers, Jim Snyder, and Jim Buchmann. Video By Bill Schneider

Bill Schneider .....que bueno este conjunto haciendo Dixi ...... esto no se escucha en mi país .. Uruguay, pero cuando era niño mi padre ponía en el pick up jazz country,samba brasilero, clásico, y eso con los años te dá un criterio muy amplio con respecto a música y esto es: músicos ....... el uruguayo.

that is really amazing talent on the clarinet. the glissandos and everything, which I"m trying to learn how to do, but it seems near impossible. you guys do it like it's nothing. does the quality of clarinet make a difference in glissando-ing? cause I still have the crappy plastic clarinet from middle school

It is not about the instrument so much - it is in your mouth:) I have been playing plastic Crampon for almost 20 years (which is not bad but I plan to change it) and you won´t beleive how smooth tone I can get from it:)) Yes the intontation particularly in heigths is sometimes very tricky..
