When Pieter said a penny when it came to drugs, I was just thinking about that Back to Black song by Amy Winehouse. In the song, she says, “And life is like a pipe. And I’m a tiny penny rolling up the walls inside.” That part of the song made me think about a penny must be cocaine in Britain

A penny, or a one pence piece weights 3.5grams / 8th oz so when people used balance scales they'd use a 1p to weigh an 8th. Also a two pence piece weights 7grams / quarter oz.

Pete would have been a bit of an oddity in that scene at the level he’s at. Doesn’t look intimidating, hasn’t had that inner city rough upbringing the big boys generally had, but they recognised him for his intelligence and how switched on he is. Someone clearly serious and you could make money with. Comes across staunch as well - so they woulda felt safe he wouldn’t have grassed
