I think they added an accidental feature, given the nature of Goku's tail and having it cut off multiple times, the removable tail seems like a reference.

I bought the manga version at a convention back in April along with a bunch of the superhero Pikachus. Mostly due to the absurdity/cuteness, but also because of the quality! Whoever’s making these knockoffs is doing a great job!

It stemmed from toy company workers got laid off in China and they decided that making high quality knock off toys actually very profitable. You can check jobbythehong transformers toy reviews to see how well made they are compared to official toys.

Believe it or not, I've seen this sold at a stand at a flea market I visit each week. They also have a Deadpool one and a Batman one. (And I think there's also an AoT one but I need to double-check)

Got myself the blue one. The tail plastic has a small cut-out so that you can push it a bit further in and it stays in place in an up-right position. It's pretty solid. The blue and black ones do allow Pikachu to hold the Powerpole but there isn't a sheath like the red one has.

Pikachu cosplaying as Tony Tony Chopper from one piece would make a lot of sense as they are voiced by the same actress in Japanese. She also played Morgana from P5 so she has knack for playing the cute but badass character.
