Something that makes Yellows even better is how few you need. If you needed an army of them to be effective like Reds, that would mean that you can't multitask as easily with fewer Reds and Blues on the map out of your 100 max. You also don't need to spend as much time looking for candypop buds and enemies to grow their numbers

I myself did use Yellows to kill enemies to avoid the crush glitch on my deathless run, so I'll say they're pretty good there, yeah, the use can be pretty niche. I usually just ended up just using them on walls.

While I understand why they changed the way bombs worked in the ports of 1, I always prefer the way they're handled in the original, simply because I like being able to drop bombs whenever I choose. in the ports, yellow Pikmin will only ever discard bombs if they're dismissed via the Onion, or if they touch water, which I find a tad bit inconvenient in situations when I need more carriers on something and I can't just have my bomb carriers drop their bombs somewhere and have them join the effort. It also just gives me more control in general over when I detonate my bombs, rather than leaving it up to the less than stellar Pikmin AI.

the whole bomb mechanic in my eyes always felt like in combat it'd be useful if you don't have a lot of pikmin with you, since having 60 reds would take up the majority of your power to deal with one. Imagine if you were trying to have pikmin do multiple things at once, then having two yellows with bomb rocks to eliminate some bulborbs while you wait for group a to break a wall and group b to move a ship part. Ironically I think having a second captain in the first one would have benefitted it more than the second game

Honestly since bulbears have alot of health i found my self using *exclusively* yellows to kill them Not to mention that there is also some dwarf bulbears around it which can also make it a bit tedious to beat using reds

This video is just false. A yellow pikmin with a bomb rock killed like 60 of my pikmin at once while I was trying to fight an enemy. It was my first playthrough of pikmin 1, but still.
