He starts his roll. I'm expecting to hear the engine move to full throttle to begin his take-off run - oh wait he already airborne. Damn missed it. Had to watch again.

I watched one of these land then take off much shorter than this in Queensland Australia years ago. The Australian Army flew them for a number of years.

with planes like that they should have them take off and land on the ramp just to prove how stol they really are

It depends what your mission is, this is a very good STOL aircraft, but the trade off it’s fairly slow and has limited range. It’s also can’t fly in know icing conditions, limiting its flying in northern climates.
