I started watching your vids a few months ago and I have to say...content is great, editing is awesome, music is really cool...I think I've watched about 25 or so and I can't get enough. I try to watch others and they just don't measure up to yours...And now I have a metal detector and a pinpointer and I'm ready to go out and look for my self...Thank you so much for the inspiration...

That ice is needle ice. Just found it all over OH recently. Forms via capillary action when your ground is warmer than the air, and ground water starts freezing. Neat stuff.

Yep. Similar to frost flowers that we get here in certain spots around SW Missouri, also during deer season. Wish I could post a picture here, they are quite spectacular.

Frozen Mushroom? Maybe if you had a brief warm spell. Nice bag of coins guys. By the way, the 36 caliber balls you are finding are from squirrel guns of the era. My suggestion for your battery issue would be to pack a thermos of coffee and another hand warmer in a day pack and keep the camera in there with them till you want to shoot. That should extend your battery life.

Hey there, the ice you found we have the exact same thing on our property here in Alaska . We call it frost heaves. Once all the snow melts and we can see the ground we see those crystals right under the surface breaking through that sometimes are over a foot long and they push up the surface Of the ground or even roads. They can cause a lot a havoc up here. Nice find

If I wasn't this old, I'd move there in a heart beat! That's quite a haul you guys found this trip! More coins than buttons, WOW! That much money was still quite a lot compared to the monthly wages in the day. Maybe you can salvage the 'clanger' from the crushed bell to restore the Ticonderoga? Brad, Watching your videos brings back memories of my 20 years detecting while living in Southern Vermont......cellar holes, farm fields, old muster fields and tavern sites and the Military Road from Charlestown NH westward...Spending all day outside with my wife detecting from Westminster, Putney, Brattleboro, BenningtonYour finds are awesome. On the days my wife had to stay home to run our B&B I would go out with my detecting buddy John...Good Times.... Nothing like the solitude and excitement of uncovering something that has been lost for hundeds of years. Keep those video's coming !!

Those specific ironclad mechanic gloves you are wearing are the best gloves ever. Not the brand broadly speaking (though that is great too) but those exact gloves. I have 5 pairs. It has taken me almost 4 years of digging with my hands in the dirt, handling rough and sharp objects and generally beating the heck out of them to even start to show a little wear (on the first pair - I bought the others when the local Home Depot stopped carrying them and they started to disappear from other stores). They wont keep your hands warm, but they stand up to the pretty much anything you throw at them without losing fine motor control and feeling like you are wearing leather mittens.

Great Video. You detect on the same type of land that surrounds my cabin in the northern Catskills, about 2000 feet in elevation. I have been detecting there with an old White detector that must be the first one that Mr. White made in his basement. I find the site I have been to on a map dated 1853. So far I have only found iron pieces but you have inspired me to upgrade my detector to a newer Garret in the spring. Actually my best find was a gun flint i found right next to the main foundation just laying on top of the ground. The site is an old orchard with a main house foundation, root cellar, and barn foundation. The curly ice I have seen many times while out deer hunting in November. Still warm moist ground covered by spongy decaying materials that acts to wick the moisture up into freezing air. Tell your pal Eddy he is missed and hopefully he might find time to be in a future video.

A nice batch of large cents! This trip reminded me of one I took with a friend in the late fall, just before the ground froze solid. It was 20 degrees, windy and with 2" of snow on the ground, which is the only reason it wasn't frozen. That day years back I found a old brass band button and a perfect 1901 Barber dime. How we didn't get frost bite that day is beyond me. It was the last Norah of that detecting season. I live about 10 miles from Conestoga, Pa. This is where the Conestoga wagons were made, where the name came from. It was named for the Conestoga Native Peoples and was very close to the Susquehanna River. The semis of the day, Conestoga wagons, would be pulled by oxen with the sets of bells and transported goods from Philadelphia. Your bell was a great find. I have seen very early photos of these huge wagons at some early taverns along the early trade routes. Thanks Kindly for a very fun video, even though I was hilly watching! It brought back some good memories of a common coin with some value because of its perfect condition on that very cold day. The Best of Luck! May many of your signals be in the 80s!
