I use to do lettering with a fine tip sharpie but I always had to thicken the lines in specific areas and it takes up a lot of time colouring it in, so I might get this

for those being critical about paper and such, the ink cartridges that come with the pens are fantastic but yes they bleed. johnnealbooks.com sells cheap pads of paper that work perfectly with the ink that comes with this pen... I own multiple 6.0mm pens that I've modified the nib (used a dremmel to grind one side down and took out the middle and another one I shifted over a little and took a piece of the nib from there) I've only done the mods on the bigger nib as I'm still learning. also Canson makes a mixed media pad that's like 5 to 7 bucks (USD) You can purchase this pad (it's cover is blue and comes in many different sizes) also Utrecht.com sells the Canson mixed media pad cheaper than walmart. hope this helps those of you with the bleeding issues. also if you dust your paper with gum sandarac that will help with feathering ink. on a side note how did you get that orange hue? I thought it was noodlers apache sunset but mine doesn't look as fluorescent as yours. awesome video and yes these are the BEST broad edged pens out hands down... Lamy doesn't even compare.. but that's just my PERSONAL opinion :)

As an Artists and pen lover I was shocked I've never have heard of a Parallel Pen so Immediately went out and bought 2 of them the 6.5 the Blueone and the 2.0 the orange one .. I do have to say it does depend on the type of paper you use,, and also you became a wonderful Calligrapher,, I have found calligraphy metal tips that go in to the pens and also found a Parallel Pen tip that works amazing just got to keep dipping it, well now I can't live without this pen

The pens are exceptionally good. And the best thing is you can use any ink you have just refill the cartridge and up you go. Tie perá sú vynikajúce a najlepšie na nich je to, že sa dajú cartridge naplniť akýmkoľvek atramentom/tušom.

Excellent penmanship!!! I got these pens and was excited to experiment. My results were very promising. I attempted to exact your style of script and came very close. However I noticed 2 things right off the bat; 1, using regular copier paper isn't ideal, subtle bleeds occur, 2. Is your technique! You have master what I'm calling a "micro twist" when handling the pen, that's how you go from thick to a single thin line either at the beginning if your stroke or when finishing a stroke!!! Great work n' Thanks Theosone!

@theosone11 жыл бұрын
Are you using those cardridges from the set? Is this in both pens? Try watercolor paper, or satin paper... Did you clean those pens with water recently? Shake cardridges well before use. If any of these won't help the problem might be a damaged tip (to big space between plates) ...

the "squeezy thing" that you said is for cleaning is actually a cartridge converter, enabling you to use bottled fountain pen inks, if which there are many, MANY great ones to chose from, to give you many creative effects. try some Noodlers Apache Sunset, or j herbins emerald of chivor. great fun.

What type of paper do you recommend to write with these pens? Many calligraphy pens used different ink types that might cause issues with common paper types like feathering and bleedthrough.

I would like to mention one detail that might help thesone. The piece you said was for cleaning the pen is actually so you may be able to use bottled ink. It may take 4 or 5 pumps to fill the converter. Hopefully you may find this tip helpful.
