In this video we take a look at the eagerly awaited EGKB Biggin Hill Airport which is now available to purchase from Pilot Plus and Orbx.
Biggin Hill was on the front line of the Battle of Britain and today enjoys a busy life as a GA and Corporate Aviation airport. It is also home to the Heritage Hanger who do a wonderful job of getting Spitfires back into the air were they belong!

I learned to fly at Biggin Hill in the late sixties at the Airtouring Club on the MS880B then the Beagle Pup. It cost about £250 old money to get a PPL as i remember.

@@Dreamsofwings Just downloaded this and things have certainly changed since my day. The old east west runway has disappeared this runway had a distinct dip in it that was known as the bump runway 03 21 was mostly flat as i remember.

@@rutchiemctavish as you may have seen in the video I had a few stutters but then when I went out later in the DA62X it was fine. Returning back in the spit I had a couple of stutters so can’t quite pin it down. Are you seeing a drop?

@@Dreamsofwings Only a noticeable drop when on the ground - flying above and looking down was ok! Even on high settings. Love this add-on! Thanks again

Wow ! Just Wow ! Biggin is my local airfield and I used to fly a C172 from there ! In gobsmacked at the detail and hard work gone into this ! It’s magnificent ! A great video and the Spitfire is something else ! I actually had goose bumps watching this ! Thanks 🙏🏻 now where’s my debit card 💳👍❤️✈️👨✈️

Beautiful video, thank you! MSFS already looks great, especially in England. But a hand-crafted airport like Biggin Hill is the icing on the cake.

Flippin’ heck Biggin Hill looks good, and the Spitfire by Flying Irons just gets better with every update. Excellent video of these two beauties.

I flew in a spitfire from Biggin last year, this is as close as you'd get to the real thing, the sounds and detail to the arfield are spot on!

Great addon but my only gripe is there is no traffic using the road just before runway 03 which is usually quite busy with cars/buses.

Nice one Rob - a great historical airfield - could feel Bader's Breath on my neck A video from you of a T + G tour of the B o B airfields - inc Manston should be in your plans concentrating on 11 Group fields - if you could find one at Tangmere (Duxford was in 10 Group)

Well done as always Rob, thanks for the tour! Whether your videos save me money or cost me money, they're always entertaining and I don't even mind waffling haha. The scenery ones always cost me money and the airplane ones usually make up for that by saving me money on airplanes that I'd likely not ever fly more than once...for a very short trip...LOL Off to buy this scenery and give it a look Sir, Cheers!

Biggin Hill is NOWHERE near London. Soon Norfolk airport will be named "London-Norwich"!

Absolutely spot on I have been to Biggin on the bump many a time and this add on is truly magnificent. We are on the flight path of the heritage hangar spits and P51 a magnificent sight when they fly over several times a day. Thanks again.. Can you drop the link on how to get the avatars white helmet sorry if I have missed this discussion.

Thanks! Love that you recognise the detail in it. The avatar with the bone dome is just one if the pilot avatars in MSFS. You just need to select them as your default in MSFS then set the MSFS avatar as the default rather than the FI WWII pilot in the FlyingIron tablet in the cockpit.

Many thanks! I use a Warthog grip on a Virpil Warbrd base, Honeycomb Bravo quadrant and Thrustmaster TPR pedals

@@Dreamsofwings Tried every day pal I have altered the pitch, trim etc and slowly engaging the throttle but nope 😂

@@thatsbigdave stick with it mate. Best advise I can give is make sure you have the pitch trim nose down one notch, keep boost under 7 (4 works fine for me) and start with the stick full back and slowly release to the centre as you roll, being ready to correct with aileron and dancing on the rudder pedals lol

My great grandad plane is I don't know if it's still there but his name is Howard Squire he flew the Spitfire aged 20 during the Battle of Britain The number is kLA x4650
