In this video, I am playing the newest table to make its way to Pinball M, System Shock Pinball. This table is based on the 1994 release of the game System Shock which was later updated and released with a newer version in 2023. The player is tasked with disrupting the operations of a malevolent force known as SHODAN. This table and DLC is available NOW!

I've played all three System Shock games, I was sent the trailer for this table through a speedrunning community, and I have just gotten back into pinball after a long break - easiest 5 bucks of my life! The multiball jackpot and super jackpot are both a blast to get, and the missions to get to the wizard mode are fun too - I have the most trouble with the Combo one. The tower is quite easy to climb once you learn that you just need to flip at the last second for each one - but then if you want to lower the security rating to zero for an extra ball, you need to unlearn that!

That is actual very interesting to hear! I love when people who don't normally play pinball find a way to get back into it! I was that way for a long time actually. I went on a pinball hiatus for 6-7 years before I found Pinball FX 3 and VPX. I've never played any of the system shock games or heard about them until I saw this tables trailer. Just goes to show how big the gaming world is or maybe that I live under a rock lol. I also love the tower feature it's so fun to perfect your timing with. Great table IMO! That said, wizard mode is where the big points tend to come from, but that's not really a bad thing because it IS meant to be the final mode of the game. I really enjoy trying to build the multiball jackpot as high as possible before starting it, I've managed nearly 8 billion from the wizard mode by doing this!

I think you're atop the global leaderboard right now CBZ! I would love to get to Wizard Mode on this table and see what its all about! I will need to give this table some more playtime before I can really dive into it. But I'm so glad you're enjoying the DLC and I think this will be another AWESOME tournament table at that!

The original System Shock game is such a classic. The studio that made it also made the Thief games. The remake went through development hell which is why it took 8 years. Are they still releasing tables for this game? I thought it was a one and done thing with only the tables that were at launch. Very cool. Love the multiflipper ramp thing on the top left, that is definitely unique. Exploding bumpers are rad too, very cool table.

They are Dom! I'm not sure what the road map looks like for Pinball M. but I know they will be releasing more tables in the future. It looks like some of the tables that are on Pinball M will also release on Pinball FX (just with less gore and mature content) so that is pretty cool because it will reach more people that way. Yes I thought the multiflipper ramp was really creative and unique. I remember one of Zaccaria's Deluxe tables having something very similar to it (could have been where they got it from tbh!). I also love the exploding bumpers, and how you can interact and "break" the environment, like you were actually playing the game, System Shock! (Which I've never played, but you know what I mean!)

Something very retro and "real pinball" about this table which is unusual for a non-Williams table from Zen. I like this trend!

I feel that 100%! I used to never be a fan of the original Zen tables but lately they've been really good and unique, but I'll always be a Williams fan first!

Agreed, Guardian! The loops at the left are really fun with the flippers - really makes you practice on timing those shots to get all the way to the top! Btw, did you recently author a table on Roxy Editor? Dom was saying someone uploaded a table I figured it could be you since you were talking about it haha.

@@NewLeaf88 I hoped to see your reaction when getting to the top of the tower and then to the upper most ramp :P Nope, I didn't release a table, yet, I am pretty much a perfectionist when it comes to my own work ;)

Haha that was one of the highlights of this table, getting all the way to the very top but missing that lost shot! I also got very excited when I got that super jack pot. This table is definitely a nice addition to Pinball M 100%. Hoping to see more and more tables added eventually in the horror theme. Yeah, I am the same way sometimes Guardian when it comes to most things! So much so that sometimes I never even start lol.

System Shock was pretty good but nothing like doom really. SS2 was my favourite and recall you found game carts in game you could play. Just an observation/tip when your doing the flipper tower and miss as the ball rolls back maybe try nudging up to get it back onto the flipper again for another go rather than just letting it drain. I tried shouting nudge at the screen each time but it didn't work :P Incidentally FX is UE4 so may work with with the new UE4/5 VR injector mod natively . Not sure what M is but it's badly optimised as FX is ok performance not great but playable on Steam Deck but M was unplayable when i tested it.. it's why ive not bought the m tables yet tbh.

HAHA Rocket! I was actually thinking the same thing as I re-watched the video, wondering why the hell I wasn't nudging to get that extra attempt in the flipper tower. Very good advice though honestly! Now I'm just imagining you screaming "NUDGE! NUDGE!" at your screen. I do encounter the optimization problem with PFX and M quite frequently. Sometimes they will load with no issue, other times they hang and I have to manually terminate the program. Wish these games were as optimized as FX3 was, do you think its possible or unlikely? I just love how fast I can boot up FX3 with no problem.

It's on Pinball FX also? That's weird. I hope I don't have to buy it again on there...lol I'm still updating the game so I don't know yet!

Interesting that they did this. So now there are 2 tables that Pinball M and PFX share, System Shock and Wrath of the Elder Gods. Kind of curious now if the other Pinball M tables will make their way to PFX at some point?

@@NewLeaf88 They originally wanted that you buy the table on PinballM or PinballFX and get it for free on the other Pinball game respectively, but Steam refuses to make this possible, for now.
