Pine nuts are the seed from pine cones and the pine nuts the likely from stone pine (Pinus pinea) trees, which are the pine nuts (pignoles) favored for making pesto. In the United States, pine nuts that are sold commercially usually come from pinyon pine, which is native the southwestern United States.

This is no land of Russia! At least the productiuon part/planting part. There are several Portuguse licence plates on the tractors and a Portuguese mobile number on the planting machine :D The only thing on this video that may ocuur out of Portugal it's the begining and the packing, WE are the top producers of this

Nice, but they should add some other plants too as in the nature there are many other plants added to the system and it benefit the diversity of nature such birds and animals. Humanity farmings should be focussing to help the nature too.

Pignoli are a tasty part of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. We can also find them from the wild Piñon pines in SW USA and Mexico. So yummy also with Lebanese cuisine!🌲💙🌲

Another Pine nut orchard, beautiful and interesting, thank you! Just a recommendation the guys pruning the trees should wear glasses, to protect their eyes from some debris/branches falling down. Would you please show how the machines separate the seed from the shell, please. "Piñones" are perfect without any scratch. I do de-shell them manually with a special tool but I always end up eating them it takes time and never enough. I get the shelled pine nuts from a close by place, beautiful wild place.

Was just watching a video how in China, human workers actually scale trees to harvest by hand, dangerous work! Those lower branches would be important for climbing, here it looks like they're stripped so a machine can grip them and shake them down. I had no idea they pressed oil and made confections! Now I want to try them, too!

My god I have an entire garden full of these pine cones its hellish having to pick them all up but that's nothing compared to the pine trees in the local woods and forests the entire ground is pine cones either whole or smashed up. I never knew so much came from a pine cone, what a waste of a product and all natural as well. Wow you learn something new every day.

For those of you who want to pick up pine cones and get your own pine nuts, do your research before you pick up any old cone and try to eat the seeds. Not all are safe for human consumption. Unless you know what kind of pine tree it is, be careful with picking up random cones. They're kind of like mushrooms. Some are safe, some are deadly, and some make you see God for a week.
