i just got my crochet kit. gonna try this one out. my only problem is that my stitches kinda look messy so i can’t really tell them apart lol
@JacquelinesLife3 жыл бұрын
Hmm, it might help if you crochet a tiny bit tighter especially since the bobble stitch can get loose in some sections. When I crochet that stitch my hook also gets caught in the yarn a lot so I also try to face my hook down so it doesn’t get caught in all of the loops when I pull through

Will there be a height adjustment if I make the pineapple smaller at the base?
@JacquelinesLife3 жыл бұрын
The base size won’t change the height but if you want to make it shorter you can take out a couple if the rows that are a repeat to make it taller. If you want a smaller pineapple (about keychain size) I do have a different tutorial on that! It’s basically the same thing but it has a different stitch count

I've tried the main "bauble" stitch many many times now and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong in my technique, but I'm really struggling to get my crochet hook through the 7 stitches each time. I've tried probably 30 times already, and whether I keep the yarn loose or tight, I can't pull it through in one go. It takes 10 seconds just to pull it through. Any advice ? Looks like a really cool pineapple and I told my sister in law I'd make her one but I'm concerned this project will be the death of me.
@JacquelinesLife4 жыл бұрын
I actually have the same issue when I do the bobble stitch. Especially when I use the red heart yarn but when I recently made a smaller one for my sister in law I made sure my hook was facing downward. I’m not sure if we crochet the same but I tend to face the curve part of my hook upward so it always gets caught in one of the loops. So now when I pull through all 7 loops i make sure my hook is facing downward and for the most part it works out for me! I hope I made sense 😂

I want mine to be bigger and i'm new at crocheting. How can I do that? Other than using bigger hook and chunkier yarn.
@JacquelinesLife4 жыл бұрын
It might be a little bit difficult if you aren’t familiar with increasing and decreasing. To make the pineapple bigger you’d have to increase at the bottom ( after row 7 ). Depending on how big you’d want it you have to continue the increases after each row. How big do you want it?
@kosarfatehi23284 жыл бұрын
@@JacquelinesLife 12 inches long. I kinda know how to increase and decrease. I've made a giant jellyfish by watching a youtuber doing so. I just don't know how to change the pattern for a bigger result :(
@JacquelinesLife4 жыл бұрын
I’m a little busy today but I’ll write out a pattern for you. I’ll explain how you can make it bigger in the pattern in case you still want it larger than what I write. I’ll try to write it up later today or tomorrow and I’ll reply back in this comment
@JacquelinesLife4 жыл бұрын
Round 1: magic circle, single crochet 6 Round 2: increase into every stitch (12 stitches total) Round 3: increase into the first stitch, single crochet into the next, rep (18 stitches total) Round 4: increase into the first stitch, single crochet into the next 2 stitches, rep (24 stitches total) Round 5: increase Into the first stitch, single crochet into the next 3 stitches, repeat (30 stitches total) Round 6: increase into the first stitch, single crochet into the next 4 stitches, rep ( 36 stitches total) ^ if you stop at round 6 you will end up with the size I have in my video How to alter the bottom : Notice how for each increasing row I did an increase into the first stitch then single crochet? If you want to make it bigger just continue to do the same so for example if you work round 7 as an increase you will Round 7: increase into the first stitch, single crochet into the next 5, rep ( 42 stitches total) When you increase its by 6. So you can see that I wrote down how many stitches you end up with. Each one of those is a multiple of 6. If you move on to round 8 you will end up with 48 stitches total in that round For this pineapple I like to create a curve so where ever you stop your next row will be a half double crochet, bobble into the next, rep THEN do one more increasing round ONCE YOU STOP INCREASING : To start the curve you will now Step 1: half double crochet into the first stitch, then bobble into the next stitch, rep Step 2: For your next row you will single crochet the entire row ^ alternate between those two steps until you end up with the length you want for you want Remember to add the eyes and mouth before it gets too small The decrease round is a little harder to explain but this is what you need to do. Step one : only decrease when you are working with the single crochet row Step two: continue doing the half double, bobble Heres my example of how to decrease: So in this video I stopped at round 7 looks like this Round 7: increase into the first stitch, single crochet into the next 4 stitches (36 stitches total) So if I decrease I need to DECREASE into the first stitch, single crochet into the next 4 stitches and I will end up with 30 stitches total because of the decreases You need to decrease until there’s a small opening but not to small because you need to crochet the leaves. For the leaves follow the same steps I have in my video

I need help because every time I try this after round 5 I have 36 stitches I really don’t know what I did wrong 😑
@JacquelinesLife3 жыл бұрын
For round 5 you should start off with an increase into the first stitch. Then you single crochet into the next 3 stitches and repeat those steps to get 30 stitches in total. For this round you should end up single crocheting into the last 3 stitches. For round 6 you should still have 30 stitches because we aren’t increasing so you are just alternating between a half double crochet and bobble stitch. If you are getting 36 stitches in round 6 I think you might be crocheting into the wrong stitch or round 5 needs to be fixed.
