YESSSS!!!! LOVE the new song!! Love the alliteration in the first verse... so smooth :) During the SiriusXMU interview, Evan said that the song was inspired by insomnia, and he said like most of his songs he wrote the melody to Phase while on a walk so it has a walking tempo. He came up with the chords on a tenor guitar :) love it!

the metronome in the opening shot! the news station at 0:20 is called "Cardinal News", red cardinal on the guitar at 1:06, the calender at 1:32 has "fly to Japan circled" an obvious reference to Evans ill-fated & key-less trip, he also steps on an avacado at 1:54 possibly refering to the line in Waveform, &&& of course lincon at the base of Zachs guitar at the end

Gonna have to respectfully disagree. I think this holds true to the production quality and songwriting of some of the older tracks. Considering this is their first “official music video” and Pinegrove has been a project since 2010ish, commercial appeal is completely out the window at this point imo.
