Thank you for taking me through GOD's country! What a beautiful place. I could feel the peace and tranquility as "we" traveled those awesome winding country roads together. From stopping by the Primitive Baptist Church, it's cemetery, and the closed general store; to cows judging Shane's driving and the roadside antique tractor museum, the experience was completely breathtaking and enjoyable. Oh, by the way, Melody you are a classy, awesome Hillbilly Hippy! You and Shane always make your videos fun! Til the next time...

Watching from Maryland. My family is from Piney Creek and yes it is so peaceful. Unfortunately too many developers have found it’s worth.

So very glad you posted this video. My wife and I live in East Central Illinois and have been wanting to come to Piney Creek since 2017 when we found out her 5 th great grandfather William Halsey is buried at the Halsey cemetery at Piney Creek. He was a personal guard to Gen. George Washington and fought at the major battles with him. My family ( Ashmore's) is from Mecklenburg co. and also fought the British in 1771.Thanks so much love it.

Thank you for visiting and videoing Piney Creek, homeplace area of my family. Went to school at Piney until they consolidated the high schools in 1967 or1968 (I think). It is near the General Store. I have nieces and nephews that still attend Piney Creek School. And, to answer your question, living there is just as peaceful and wonderful as you think it is. Pugh Road, which you were on, was named after some of my family. Pugh is pronounced "pew" like a church pew.

We lived in a house on NC 93 when we were first married. Some years later we moved to Piney Creek on Twin Brooks Way.We now live in Millers Creek, NC.

A few years ago you couldn't hardly even see the Fields store in the woods. I didn't know it was even there till I stopped and visited a old friend in the cemetery and I've been through there many many times through the years headed to Lansing.

Townships in PA. Last one I lived in was Guilford. The area you’re driving looks just like a lot of S. PA from mid-Allegheny’s eastward. Looking forward to our Christmas camping trip so we can get Hunt Bro’s. Right outside the campground gate at Stephen Foster SP. FL.

Enjoyed this! Piney creek is very beautiful ! I have some friends who live in piney creek and always sharing photos of the area in every season and of awesome wildlife, and the new river. I love the rolling hills and grassy meadows. My Friends there usually go shopping in sparta, west Jefferson or independence and galax...I love stokes county too! Even though not in the mountains, it's technically in the northwest Piedmont, it's kind of hilly with their own mountain range, the sauratown mountains, which are beautiful...the river bottoms, along the dan river is very scenic also, and some pretty, old county stores. Well I rambled on , sorry guys ...appreciate y'all always...stay safe God bless y'all always....🙏❤

I live 15 minutes from Piney Creek, in Virginia. It's ok living here, but jobs pay very little, and the winters are harsh. All the pines grow easily as well as everything else. Allergies are bad here. Know all that before you think about moving here.

Sorry, but... Nice passing in a no-passing zone! I know, when Shane pulled over to pass he wasn't quite in the no-passing zone yet. 😁 Anyway, I just started the video. You were talking about towns and townships. Every county in NJ is divided up into municipalities. Most of them are townships, and in many counties, the townships are rural. The rest of the municipalities are either cities, boroughs, or towns. Then within most townships and some boroughs there are unincorporated "towns" and settlements. The county seat of this county (Atlantic) is an unincorporated "town" called Mays Landing, which is in Hamilton Township. Confused yet? lol. Anyway, what a beautiful ride! I loved that little Primitive Baptist church, and the big tree in the front yard. I also loved that little general store. Oh wow- Shane's Dad is a year older than mine. I want that VW van! If I could have any vehicle, I think I would choose an air-cooled VW. I loved the little white church at the end too. This was another fun video. I loved it. Thanks. Barry

I think some of my ancestors lived in NC. Possibly in Ashe County as there is a community there called Sturgills and Sturgill is my last name. They later came into Virginia then into Kentucky.

There’s another store not far from piney creek general store called Pine Valley Grocery. piney Creek general store used to be called J&G service back when I was in high school. Jack & Gail ran it - father & son duo. They lived in the brick house to the left of the store. They’re both passed now, but they were pillars of our community for almost my whole childhood.

When I was a kid my dad worked for a small family dairy farm. He was allowed to take home 2 gallons of unchurned milk a week straight from the cows. That is until whoever oversees farms told them to stop.

The old store at the beginning of your video and half of your ride is not in Piney Creek. There are a lot of different communities in the area you passed through on your way to Piney Creek, but much of your trip was not in Piney Creek.

Stereotypes come from somewhere. I'm pretty certain that you and your wife will hold up stereotypes about "certain" people to be true when it's about a group of people that you don't like and want to believe the stereotypes about. You can't be upset that stereotypes about people that you don't want to believe them about are also considered true.. Appalachians aren't just getting a bad wrap, much of what's said about them is true. "Oxyland" isn't a utopian paradise, just like Chi-raq isn't a good spot to vacation in. The hills have always had eyes dude. 👀 😆
