@GWARsleazy411 pinhead gunpowder started at amost the exact same time. the first traces are dated back to about 1990, which was when their first feature length album 1039/smooth was released. they have both pretty much been playing side-by-side, if that makes any sense. you are correct, however, since green day's EPs were being written since 1987. (and of course, sweet children before that).

Green Day experienced the closest thing to anarchy when they played at Woodstock, and they didn't like it. Just because they don't believe in anarchy, does not mean they're not punk. Punk is in your heart, and it's voicing your own opinion, and that's exactly what they do. Billie Joe said "Green Day has no rules." and to me, that's the most punk thing I think he could say.
