I stripped the 8 pound line out and the spool held only about 50 feet of 20 pound line. I dropped the down rigger about 15 feet and let the line trail out about 20 feet from the downrigger. That gave a tiny bit of line if the fish pulled some dragged. It did the trick and the barbie rod caught the first 3 silvers.
