Okay but these lakes were INSANE!!
And I didnt know that this is where Mexico gets all of its salt from, so cool.
We take a short road trip down to the next state over from Quintana Roo, Yucatan! Its a 3-4 hour drive away from Playa del Carmen. I would recommend renting a car or hiring a driver to make the trip out there easier.
Here in Las Coloradas you will see these stunning pink lakes that get their color from microorganisms in the water. Such a cute spot to take tons of photos and videos at!
I think it is more worth it to go for the bike or safari tours as they take you to other areas of the lake that you can't walk to.

I am a Canadian who moved to Mexico in August 2022. It originally started out as a vacation, then the same month I moved here, I met my boyfriend and I have stayed ever since and now have my temporary residency here!
Starting and moving somewhere new always has its set of challenges and changes and I am sharing it all with you.
Fortunately I work remotely so that has afforded me the ability to work wherever I choose which is how I have been able to stay and live here for so long.
