Pink Floyd does the entire 'Dark Side of the Moon' album beginning to end during this concert, exactly how it was recorded in studio - one long flow. "Any Colour You Like" flows directly into the last two songs on the album "Brain Damaged/Eclipse". The two MUST be played together. Don't break them up should you decide to do them. You'll understand why.

I started to sing in my mind when their clip ended. .."the lunatic is on the grass.." (With "Animals" you couldn't break up anywhere).

It is very rare to see them play the entire album in one setting. I attended one of those concerts.....it was transcending. From the universe, through their instruments, and directly plugging into my soul. One of the most memorable experiences of my life.

@@romanjohnstonNot rare they've played it live to crowds before they even released the album and continued to through most of the 70's, There's plenty of video and bootleg albums of this available on KZfaq 👍

I can't think of a Pink Floyd song that I don't love but there is one that shook my soul to the core. It is called “Great Gig in the Sky.” I would love to see you two react to that one.

The effect on his guitar that makes what you call * the organ sound * is the dynacord cls-222 wich is a leslie simulator. And the leslie was intended to be used with a b3 organ when it was built.

DSOTM should be heard in it’s entirety….otherwise you’re breaking the law.😎. Listened to this since the album came out ‘73 when I was 10…..it’s never left me and still gives me the same chills. Will probably have Great Gig in The Sky playing as I’m wheeled out of the church🎸👍

If you do Brain Damage, you MUST do Eclipse as well. Dark Side of the Moon was performed in its entirety at the Pulse concert.

If you find what the Pulse concert contains, you'll find that Pink Floyd played (among other things) the complete album The Dark Side of the Moon. I think it's the best rock album ever. By the way, whatever you play from this concert, you will never go crazy. It's I think the best live music performance ...

David Gilmour does an excellent version of Echoes live in Gdansk. Please do a reaction video. He quit playing that song, on his solo tours, after Rick Wright passed away. It was the last time the song was filmed live with Rick Wright playing.

The best performance of 'Echoes' for me was Live In Gdansk with Dave Gilmour and with Richard Wright's last performance before he died. Note this is not billed asPink Floyd on KZfaq. It's under Dave Gilmore Echoes Live.

Plenty of great lyrical guitarists out there - George Harrison, Clapton, most great blues players - the singing line is a rich tradition. Mr Gilmore is in excellent company.

Personally, I prefer the (Dark Side of the Moon) studio version of this song due to the secondary guitar's "complimentary/fill picking" that perfectly enhances Gilmore's exquisite solo.

Floyd may tour again. Even if they don't, Roger Waters is. And the tours are very similar in feel. Similar classy stage shows, and fantastic sound. Make sure you go!

This is different from studio version because it would be difficult to reproduce. I highly recommend you try Careful With That Axe, Eugene. Either Pompeii live video (1971) or Ummagumma live audio (1969). This will surprise both of you.
@flubblert
@flubblert 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's different due to any difficulty, but that Richard Wright would often improvise some of his parts live. He didn't care for doing it exactly like the record on purpose.
@Esl1999
@Esl1999 2 жыл бұрын
@@flubblert they rarely played anything exactly the same but as you know those chords were to overlap with a delay.and to time it perfectly. would have been hard. I’m not complaining, I’m just saying they didn’t get the studio effect.

@@Esl1999 I guess I was speaking more melodically. I think if they had stuck closer to the original, some of the intricacies you mentioned would have gone mostly unnoticed to the casual ear.

Why the need for lyrics to express an emotion? Usually lyrics are expressed in words, but with Pink Floyd they are also expressed through music, without the need for lyrics. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, I say that a David Gilmour guitar chord, or Richard Wright's keyboard equals a thousand words, you just have to close your eyes and open your ears to read them. In (Any Color You Like) the thought behind this song expresses the illusion that man has the power to choose. At least that's what Roger Waters was thinking about this title.
