I have always enjoyed this "version" of Pink Floyd, without Roger Waters. While he was a founding member and had much to add, he also sort of always seemed to be an angry/dark influence as well. This "version" is all about the pure beauty & essence of the band. I may be a small voice & opinion, but it's just me & how I feel. I have their live Pulse DVD. Now that is absolute perfection. Just an amazing bouquet for the senses. I hope you're well, Jamel...I've loved your views & content for a couple years now ✌

Thank you I have been listening to this song 35 years since it came out. It was this reaction that hit home. I had not tried to understand the song, just enjoy it. With just a few words from you about this, it means so much more. In the past five years or so, I have become more isolated, more left out, more alone and ignored. Having a rare neurological disorder that now has me in a wheelchair, I don't leave the house much, and when I go somewhere, I feel alone in a crowd. I have to find a way to be accepted and included when I show up somewhere by myself, other than people holding doors open for me. I'm going to dig into the lyrics and watch this again.

Very poignant song on the current state of the world; On the turning away From the pale and downtrodden And the words they say Which we won't understand "Don't accept that what's happening Is just a case of others' suffering Or you'll find that you're joining in The turning away" It's a sin that somehow Light is changing to shadow And casting it's shroud Over all we have known Unaware how the ranks have grown Driven on by a heart of stone We could find that we're all alone In the dream of the proud On the wings of the night As the daytime is stirring Where the speechless unite In a silent accord Using words you will find are strange Mesmerised as they light the flame Feel the new wind of change On the wings of the night No more turning away From the weak and the weary No more turning away From the coldness inside Just a world that we all must share It's not enough just to stand and stare Is it only a dream that there'll be No more turning away?

This song was part of my childhood and I loved it. Makes you think, even as a kid. The the crowd go nuts at the start, then quiet for the first verse til guitar kicks in (apart from odd rogue whistler, lol), that's respect and love for the track right there. Definitely touches the soul! As for ppl askin for change to do drugs n stuff. I don't judge. I that's where they at and feel that's what they need at that point in their lives, at least they aren't robbin ya!. But that's up to them, I'd rather they bought food with my donation, but I ain't gonna judge. I definitely know what it's like. They will seek help when ready or die, but the choice is theirs. Can't force help when they aren't ready!

David Gilmour and Pink Floyd may be a rock band, but their message and impact ranks up there with Mother Teresa, MLK, and many others who fought for social justice, peace, and unity….creating music so powerful that it transcends all races. The universal language of love. Incredible
