I first heard this song coming home from checking my husband into the hospital where it was thought he wouldn't survive the night. Only today, three years after he died, the full force of the song hit me, what it IS all about...and how his family never once offered support to him or comfort and even shit canned his own funeral by not showing up. A truly wonderful guy died, his spirit will live on forever. But the turning away...from ones who should have been there? That is unconscionable.

What great animation..Makes you stop & think!!! Plus definitely one of my favorite by Pink Floyd. David Gilmore is an incredible musician!!!

And perhaps stop the next time you see a beggar on the street rather than passing by and turning away....

To all you new and old Pink Floyd fans out there: If your every day morals and humanity was half of what they embody through their art. maybe there is hope for humanity after all.

PF certainly made some great music. I went to their concert in Sydney, not knowing much about the band. Hadn't heard this song before and it blew me away. Great clip too. Well done.

New age babble. The new age enlightenment is a NARCISSISM MACHINE - quite the OPPOSITE of so-called enlightenment. A TRAP of the illuminati satanists.

Pink Floyd "On The Turning Away" On the turning away From the pale and downtrodden And the words they say Which we won't understand "Don't accept that what's happening Is just a case of others' suffering Or you'll find that you're joining in The turning away" It's a sin that somehow Light is changing to shadow And casting its shroud Over all we have known Unaware how the ranks have grown Driven on by a heart of stone We could find that we're all alone In the dream of the proud On the wings of the night As the daytime is stirring Where the speechless unite In a silent accord Using words you will find are strange Mesmerized as they light the flame Feel the new wind of change On the wings of the night No more turning away From the weak and the weary No more turning away From the coldness inside Just a world that we all must share It's not enough just to stand and stare Is it only a dream that there'll be No more turning away
