Pompeii is an ancient city in southern Italy that was destroyed by a volcano (Vesuvius) 2,000 years ago. They are performing in the amphitheater there. btw, there is a part 2.

Excellent reaction. I am 63 years old and I remember when this album came out. This is probably the best song on the album. It showed that they were beginning to construct proper progressive rock songs in the next album of course launch them into superstardom. The Dark Side of the Moon. Echoes is a story about going to sleep, dreaming and waking up. Something that we all do every day. And the dreaming nightmare part is downright spooky sometimes. A great song. Thanks so much for the reaction

I am 56 and just found these older Pink Floyd songs a few months ago accidentally. I did listen in the 70s The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You were here but these old ones are much better. I am sold.

The Floyd were 'constructing proper songs' well before this, as well as their arresting soundscapes. They had already been a highly rated progressive band for half a decade before 'Dark Side', though it's true they enjoyed spectacular album chart success from that time.

I'm 63..😏 my brother got me the album for my 11th birthday 😏 he took me to see them 1974 😊 the Liverpool Empire theatre UK, Dark Side of the Moon tour 😊 truly BLOWN AWAY..❤️ oh yeah, they did Echoes as an encore...❤️

Still gives me chills, I remember when Meddle came out, we played Echoes as the last song on Saturday nights throughout the 70s. Also from it, try One of These Days, another classic track and unreal audio experience. Remember to react to Echoes Part 2 and enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

Excellent reaction : done in 1972 which your parents may have not been born yet. Recommend the whole version and the last time played.( do to the death of Rick Wright keyboards David Gilmours " Live at Gdansk" 2008 " echoes" whole version which Dave actually plays the same guitar. guarantee you will love it.

I'm only 62 so I found this album Meddle in my older brothers "don't you dare touch" vinyl collection 🤣 More than 50 years later I still get lost in the sauce. And the message of being better human beings, opening windows instead of building walls and remembering we are all related, we are all family. 😍

I saw Pink Floyd at their peak on April 12, 1975 at The Cow Palace South San Francisco. They played by theselves, no other band opened for them. They played 4 hours. They played the entire Dark Side of the Moon and also all of Meddle Album and their new upcoming album Wish You Were Here. I am 65 and have seen the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers, Lynryrd Skynryd, Tom Petty, The Who, and so many other great bands this has to got down as the best concert I have ever been to. I also saw Floyd 2 years later on the Animals Tour in Oakland Summer 1977. Crtics say that tour and especially the Oakland shows they were at their best ever. I kind of agree but not sure the Oakland show topped the Cow Palace show in my mind. I was 18 in 75 and just starting my life. Incredible music.
