Pink Floyd - Shine on You Crazy Diamond | Live - Looping Performance

6 жыл бұрынThis is a work in progress. I have been figuring out how I would loop this song and there are a couple avenues I am pursuing but this is what I came up with after about an hour of tinkering.
I am using a Boss RC300 Loop Station and a host of effect pedals for the different tones into a Behringer XR18 mixer.
I am going to be posting a whole series of videos on looping and live sound concepts for solo one man band performance. Please like and subscribe for more videos and message me some requests you want to see me do!

I know!! it was the morning after a party... I had to keep playing though. I am going to work more on this cover this week.

I figured that was the point. So you know the story? Syd Barrett walked into the studio one day when Pink Floyd was recording and the band didn't even recognize him. He was just in the corner at first, it took the band a bit to realize who he was. And of course you know what the song is about. 🙂 Great performance, you captured the mood of the song. I was waiting for drums to come in lol

@@130rne yeah I've heard them tell that story. I'm all about those drums coming in and the lead up I think I captured with the drive tone I have and the bouncing delay. I'll post the full version sometime but I don't know if I can recreate the random people walking through lol

@@RyanMarchand Absolutely man, I'm very critical when it comes to covers. I'm all about different forms of expression but it needs to capture the spirit of the original. Excellent job on it, I was feeling the song. Looking forward to more. :)

What are the names of the pedals you use in the very beginning? the ones that just make the ambient noise

Piezo pickups > Kingsley Jester Overdrive > EHX POG > BOSS DD5 > Boss RC300. I am looping clips of that signal chain in single track playback mode with a volume swell to make 3 separate drone patterns to do all the lead work over.

Thanks Steve. This is a custom made guitar from Shasta Mountain Guitars. Les Paul body with wide classical spacing neck and 24 fret access with a hybrid piezo and coil-tappable pickup system. I love the thing for looping and making a really wide variety of sounds
