The song is primarily a tribute to the aforementioned artists' former bandmate Syd Barrett. Barrett, who was also one of the founders of Pink Floyd, was kicked out of the group in 1968 because of his fragile mental health and LSD abuse.

FYI: Syd former member was drop from the group from mental break down do to many "TRIPS" . While P.F. was recording this album which in large part about the loss of Syd mentally and physically. Sdy walk into Abbey Road while they were recording this song about him who they hadn't sen him in yrs. and nobody recognized him . His appearance from size and face had change that much." the look in your eyes like black holes in the sky" . they wanted their friend to come back to them. Twilight Zone stuff when Syd walks into the studio

I think Syd always had mental health issues that might have been exacerbated by excessive drug use, namely LSD.

I lived next door to Gary Coleman back in 1979. Never talked to him because he and his parents were always driving in and out of their apartment building garage. He always waved to me from the backseat of the car. He always initiated the wave making him one of the friendliest celebs I’ve encountered in Hollywood. Usually they ignore you.

Glad to see the younger generation appreciate great music! I subscribed just to watch you go down the PF rabbit hole. Seen them many times over the years. There is not greater band. And you have a large catalog to go through, enjoy!

i luv ur reactions on Floyd! remarkable! watch the video from Floyd from same concert it’s called Keep Talking, guitarist David Gilmour does something special with a guitar voice box. you most likely have never heard something like this. it’s 1994 Pulse “keep talking” keep eyes peeled cuz it’s a live video and enjoy woman.
