This is great, man, I’m so glad you did it, and I can’t wait for part two! My only advice is, for albums old enough to have been originally released on vinyl, you should find out which songs were side one and side two, and try to split the reaction at that point. Before CDs came out, a record always had two sides and you always had to flip it, so the artists who made great albums would use that break in the middle for effect, sort of like the intermission in a stage play. Seriously though, thanks for this. I’m sure it made a lot of your listeners happy. I’d love to see you do the same thing with Pink Floyd’s album Animals, as it is my personal favorite. I’d also like to see you do a side one/side two breakdown of Abbey Road by The Beatles, as that is possibly my favorite album of all time. Keep it coming, man. Love.

New listeners to PF need to realize most of their albums are concept albums so the whole album is meant to listened to from start to finish as each song is actually part of a bigger theme, in this case the album is talking about mental health issues largely influenced by the band losing their original creative force, vocalist and guitarist Syd Barrett to permanent severe mental illness, its a sad story and had a massive effect on the band. The album also explores greed, time and how short our lives really are and how quickly time passe

Great to see someone listen to this for the first time. Don't worry, we all had pretty much the same response when we first heard it on the radio or a friends stereo when it came out in 1973. If you check out what they started doing in about 1968...playing longer, more complex songs that took you on a journey, taking you into outer space or an English garden, all while sitting in your basement or bedroom. Then songs like Echoes would take up an entire side of an album. The next logical step was an album of "songs", but really was one long piece of music based around a theme. The result was Dark Side Of The Moon. Ready for part 2 when you are.

I think you will really like the album Animals. Follow along with the lyrics. There’s some deep stuff on that album.

I actually consider ANIMALS to be their best album.

I had no idea you listened to Darkside of the Moon the whole thing. I am so roud of you. I think that is the only way to listen to Darkside. Wow! Hope you liked Money and Gig. They are my faves of the album. Good job!

Most Pink Floyd needs to be listened to in this kind of order. You may have fave songs, but the albums are always concept albums and tell a whole story.

CD's changed how music is consumed. Before CD's you played albums by the side, from the first to the last track. When putting a vinyl album together, even ones that weren't "concept albums" like DSotM, artists arranged the tracks so there was a flow to it. For teenaged me in the 70's, listening to an album was a 45 minute journey where I felt I had travelled to a destination and back. Watching you hear David Gilmour's more inspired guitar work for the first time was a treat. You'd stop bobbing your head and put your hands over your eyes and I have to say that I felt exactly what you were feeling. Even after all these years and many listens, that feeling never goes away. Love ya, man. Happy you now know what we had on the radio when we were growing up.

f course you need to finish the album! (Personally, my favourite album is Meddle.) I want to put in a suggestion for a future vid though: YES. Heart of the Sunrise or Roundabout from their Fragile album. I guarantee Chris Squire will blow you away with his base playing.

This reminds me: I just came across your channel a few days ago and watched your reaction to the Prophet's Song. I wanted to say something then but since the post was already a couple of months old I didn't think anyone would pick up on it. At the end of the song, there is an acoustic piece. As you listened to just this song, that prologue doesn't make much sense musically. To fully appreciate that section, you need to continue to the next song -- Love of My Life. When you do that, the acoustics section makes total sense; it's a transition piece.

You said it's like you're on a lazy river and the sun is setting. But for me it's being in the moonlight on the farm far away from any city, about 3-4 in the morning by my self, just me and the moon.

Gosh I so envy you listening to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon for the first time. I was 20 in 1973 when I had my introduction and it blew my mind, and still does to this day!! Not a reaction video!!???? That's EXACTLY what you are doing, reacting to something new and off the scale compared to your standard regular music. Welcome to Pink Floyd. Brilliant reaction!!😂😂🇬🇧

Reaction video or not, you need to part two this, you won't be disappointed. The Moody Blues are a similar group with the way they construct an album.
